Offical UCLA 2014 Hopefuls

I forgot about my Thursday night line-up. Which starts with Community (okay, not that great), Parks and Recreation (Amy Poehler is pretty funny), The Office (classic :)), and 30 Rock (Hilarious show!). Besides weekends, this is the only day I sit there and watch TV.

does anyone know of shcolarships offered by UCLA?
do we apply for them or are we automatically considered?

@kiley:)
kool! always wanted to play that…did ur school have a marchseason?

anyone watched The Blind Side? its a awesome!!!

SAT Reasoning: 2180
SAT Subject Tests: 780 BioM / 710 Math2

I hope I get in… :S

^^When you applied to the UC through their application, wasn’t there something about what types of scholarships you were interested in? I don’t know what they do with that afterward, but I think you are automatically entered into all the UC-specific ones that you are applicable to.

@teknos, yeah in the fall. I only did it freshman and sophomore year though. And we did field shows and not parades. What did you guys do?

And I think you’re automatically considered for some scholarships through your application. What I want to know is whether those are need based or merit based. And also, there are two different scholarships that you can apply for available for freshman through the UCLA alumni association.

@paritoshG
great scores!!!
intended major??

@kiley(:
really? thats cool we did field show my frshman/sophomore yr
and my jr/senior yr we focused more on parades.
fun experience though, if i get into UCLA i’ll most likely
be looking at joining their pep band.

yeah i selected i think 13 of 15 things available
for scholarships but i hear those are extremely
competitive. i wanted to know if there are any
other non-campus sponsored scholarships :)

Right, another applicant here. I’m from Malawi, southern Africa. I will not post any of my scores because quite frankly they are a joke except for my subject tests! Anywho UCLA seems rather amazing and it’s one of my top choices. Other UC’s i applied to are UCB and UCSB(safety ;))

Waiting for decisions is a freaking pain in the ass!

^Sigh… At least they’ll be out before all those private colleges! … Well, only a week earlier.

I’m hoping too… guy from north bay.

UC GPA: 4.04
SAT: 800 CR, 710 M, 750 W = 2260
SAT Subject: 760 Math, 710 Literature

^800 CR is amazing; great job! :smiley: 2260 composite is also way above UCLA’s average, so you’re looking good. :slight_smile: What’s your intended major, and where else are you applying to?

When should we expect to hear? USC sends merit based decisions end of Jan.

UCLA sends them sometime at the end of March, I think.

Thank you!

I wrote my personal statements on how being poor has affected my career choice (politics) and on my campaign for ASB president which later resulted in losing and founding the student union. The UCLA admissions lady who read them said they were fantastic, especially the second one more than the first.

@ GatorPA
According do Berkeley, the
