***Official 2011 Late AP US History Exam Thread***

This thread is for those that took the late AP US History test on 5/18/11!!!

MC very straightforward- I missed two or three questions tops.
DBQ- slightly difficult topic but not so bad
FR Essay- easy topics
Overall I’m confidedent I’ll get a 5.

NOTE - I did not study for this test until the night before, when I skimmed through my notes once.

I thought the MC was a little bit more difficult than the practice exams my teacher gave me. Still pretty easy though, I’m thinking I’ll miss 10 or so.

DBQ - Pretty easy, I wrote three pages with a fair amount of outside information and I used all documents but one. If I analyzed the documents to answer the question well enough I’m confident I’ll get a 7, probably an 8 or 9.

FRQ #1 - Not too bad. Slow start while I thought of outside information to use but overall I’m pretty confident.

FRQ #2 - Really easy, nailed it with tons of outside information and analysis. I’m pretty confident I got an 8 or 9.

Probably got a 5, but I’m 100% sure I got a 4 at the worst. The MC was about the same difficulty as my practice tests and I got easy 5s on those, and the FRQs were all the same or easier than my practice tests, so I probably didn’t get any worse than 7s.

MC was soo easy. I breezed through the first 15 questions. There were a lot of questions that i knew only because i crammed last night (who ever said that cramming doesnt help is wrong). My essays were average probably a five or 6 at best but i don’t care because my multiple choice should seal the deal. I’m predicting a 4.

I agree that the MC was much easier than expected! I’ve been studying for a week or so, but last night I crammed with the Direct Hits US History in a Flash (pretty much the best prep book I’ve ever used. Ever. I would recommend it in a second), and I think that the cramming helped the most with the multiple choice. I thought the DBQ went okay. I wrote 5 pages, but I’m a little rusty on DBQ essays so I can’t be sure. I also thought the other two free responses were decent. Fingers crossed for a 5!

^Students on the US History in a Flash FB page are also reporting that the DH book was a huge help.

Unfortunately, I’m not so confident. I guessed on a lot of the MC  I thought the DBQ was pretty easy (used all but one document), but COMPLETELY ran out of time on the FRQs :’( I did #2 and #5, but did 5 first, came back to #2 in the last ten minutes and tried to write as fast as possible, but it was terrible. I really, really need a 5 so I’m just hoping that I did well on the MC… and that I got a good score on the DBQ.

What is a likely score for using all documents but one? My teacher grades a lot harder than the average, and I would only get 5s on in class DBQs (only using about 6 docs though). This was probably the best one I had ever written, so I’m hoping an 8 if my teacher really does grade a lot harder than average!

REA Crash Course and Direct Hits were AMAZING for multiple choice and offered many helpful test tips that saved. Strongly recommend it to people taking APUSH next year

I liked the FRQ’s sort of. Not too crazy about the DBQ.
I was so-so on the multiple choice, What did you guys think of this???

100% got a 5

Hey all,
Quick question…do any of you know when we get our scores back. I know they will be delayed but I want to know what kind of time frame I am looking at. Thanks!!

@Sunshine99, I heard it was August but I’m not positive

Thats annoying, I am going to have to spend all summer wondering… Thanks though!! :)

Is the late APUSH test the same as the normal one? Also, why do some people take it late?

^Not the same test. Time conflict, illness, emergency, etc.
