Accepted: Vassar, Boston College, UVa
Waitlisted: UVa (accepted off the waitlist)
Rejected: Harvard, Penn, Haverford, Williams
Pending: Trinity College

Attending: Vassar. I was torn between Vassar and UVa, but I felt UVa would be more of what I didn’t like at Miami (greek life, for example)

Comments: Vassar was my top choice. I didn’t think I was going to get in. I also didn’t think I would get into the ones I was rejected too, haha.

Applied to: NYU, Vassar, Skidmore, Smith, William & Mary, UNC-Chapel Hill, Rice, Pitzer, Scripps
Accepted: William & Mary, Rice, UNC-CH, NYU, Skidmore, Smith
Waitlisted: N/A
Rejected: Vassar, Scripps, Pitzer

Likely Attending: Rice! Seems strange for an artsy person like me, but I’m excited :)

Comments: I was really, really unsure of whether I’d get in, but I did way better than I thought I would, and actually way better than I did for freshman admissions. Maybe transferring is easier? Was slightly confused about the rejections from Scripps and Pitzer after the other acceptances but comforted myself with the knowledge that they’re much smaller schools with higher retention rates. Knew I wouldn’t get into Vassar, but was thrilled with the others! Especially Rice and Smith.

Anyhoo, my two cents: if you’re even the slightest bit unsure about your current school, it really doesn’t hurt to apply for transfer - it only means that you’ll have more options. And, I was delighted to find that the whole process is much easier than it seems, so don’t let it intimidate you into not trying!

Accepted to: Loyola U Chicago, Binghamton, Case Western, Louisville, Syracuse, Baruch
Waitlisted: Wake Forest, Vanderbilt
Rejected: NYU

Attending: Louisville University Honors Program

Comments: In the end, I wanted to attend a school that offered both finance and sports management; both of which Louisville offers. In addition, due to unreasonably high costs of attendance at more prestigious accepted schools, Louisville was financially the most viable option overall. Go cards!

1600/1600?!

Comments: Found out June 14. Tough decision for me, just cuz I want a full-year study abroad at London School of Econ, and transferring might make that difficult for me at NU.

Waitlisted: Holy Cross
Rejected: Bowdoin (out of 165 transfers, 2 were accepted. I wasn’t too disappointed :stuck_out_tongue: )

Likely Attending: Brandeis

Comments: Considering my choices, I felt that Brandeis is equal to a mid-to-upper level NESCAC school. I also got killer financial aid, which is a big part of the equation for me. The social scene is a little lacking, but I have friends who can get me into parties (I’m not a frat boy or anything, but I do enjoy my weekend life.) Overall, I’m pretty excited and am really happy to have been accepted to four of my reach schools!

Waitlisted:

Likely Attending: Ohio State,

Comments: Wasn’t eligible to apply to UIUC, UW-Madison, and a number of other institutions… their loss, I guess? I think fit was the biggest issue from the start. Going into the transfer process, I looked at schools much more carefully and in depth. I wanted to get the feeling that ‘this is the place for me’ and I think I found it at OSU… as long as I can get my financials in place, Columbus, here I come!
