Official 2014 Georgetown Transfer Thread

Has anyone heard back from SFS?

@ilikeparislol A few pages back, @akilein said they got into SFS for International Economics.

When did everyone receive their financial aid information?

Hey all, got into the SFS ( @ilikeparislol‌ ) May 15th through email at ~5PM, letter arrived today at my house. Apparently I will be able to view my aid package sometime today.

I got accepted too! For international politics

Applied as transfer to Georgetown SFS from University of Notre Dame…no word yet though. No email, no letters yet

@Morphe‌ WELCOME TO THE HILLTOP!

Is it fair to say that SFSers should be receiving decisions soon?

hey guys, got my acceptance to the sfs for IPEC around 5 this evening. here’s to hoping my financial aid package is going to make my dream school a reality. I spent my freshman year of college at West Point, but I’ve been out of school for the past year… looks like it’s time to get myself back in gear! :slight_smile: :smiley: good luck to all who are still waiting!

@ArchibaldTuttle THANK YOU! I’m so excited!

@mgallien2 CONGRATULATIONS! :D

Congratulations @gu1789‌ @mgallien2‌ and @ilikeparislol‌ ! I gotta say, it’s great to see so many happy posts, but WOW does it make waiting harder!

@CelloDiego‌ I know I’m dying! I almost have a mini panic attack anytime I get an email notification haha

Got an email saying my AO downloaded my transcripts off parchment yesterday evening… Gah give me some news already!

Also it seems this thread is definitely over represented lol very high success rate, hopefully that means luck for the rest of us :)

If it’s useful, I got an email on the 13th asking for my final grades. I received my acceptance letter yesterday (5/21) at 5 pm

@ilikeparislol‌ that makes me hopeful :slight_smile:
I’ve been trying to rationalize why one would ask for final grades unless it’s to reaffirm or negate a pre-decision so to speak, and since I got another 3.9 in theory it shouldn’t hurt, whether it helps… Idk

Hey guys so I’m worried here. I requested and have been granted an early read of my application, but here’s the thing, my other deposit deadline for the other school is at midnight tonight and the GU admissions office is yet to email me if I’ve been accepted or denied. I’m assuming that the delay can’t be good but I was wondering if you guys could provide any other sort of insight into this situation. I really don’t want to lose a $700 deposit to this other school as GU is far and away my top choice. Thanks in advance.

@transfer026 I requested an early read as well, but I was denied the early read:/ At least you are one step closer :)

@transfer026 what school in gtown did you apply to? they review by schools and majors

@ilikeparislol‌ I applied to MSB as a Finance major. Talk about the tough path into the university through the school that has the highest yield among freshmen and one of the most popular majors.

Another day goes by, and no email from Georgetown. Fingers crossed for all of us [-O<

@KingofSweden‌ same. I’m starting to lose hope… Really disappointing
