Losing hope, too. Oh well…nothing I can do. I feel bad whining when I’m already at Notre Dame, but I just love Georgetown so much

Speaking of majors… Has anyone been accepted to psych?

Don’t lose hope bbs. There’s still plenty of time before June 1, and nothing good comes of trying to analyze all these factors before you get your actual decision!

Just relax and trust that you’ll ultimately end up at the right school and meet the right people and have the best experiences for you. Whether Georgetown is that place for you, you’ll find out within a couple weeks. If it’s not, then get excited about the opportunity to transfer to another school that’s a better fit for you than the one you spent this past year(s) at.

That’s all, cuties. Good luck! I’m excited for all of you to find out where your next step will be. I have no doubt that you’ll have a great remainder of your undergrad years

In my acceptance letter it said “This year, Georgetown’s Admissions Committees considered nearly 2,000 transfer candidates for approximately 150 spaces.”

Also not sure if it helps but my hs gpa was around 92 weighted, sat 2070 (1350/1600), college gpa 3.9. I was rejected last year, but this year I wrote about how my depression affected me when I moved (I’m from texas, but grew up in paris, and moved back to america before my senior year) and how i overcame my depression (and explained why i got Ds and mostly Bs my senior year). I was an executive of four clubs in college and worked on a mayoral campaign. i also overloaded and got As in intensive arabic. i’m also transferring from a small public school in NJ (not rutgers), and the acceptance rate is 46% at the school.

I know i nailed my interview (it was an hour and a half long) and at the end of it my interviewer said that he would do everything he could to get me in and that georgetown would be lucky to have me. like by the end of the interview he was showing me pictures of his family lol

georgetown does acceptances by schools/ majors so i would look out for the others on this thread who are in the same major as you

@ilikeparislol Congrats on getting in!

Though funny thing happened yesterday, I got a letter in the mail from Georgetown asking if I wanted to be placed on the extended waitlist for first-year admission. Just called them and they have no idea why I received that in the mail, but my heart stopped yesterday when I saw that until I saw the part about it being for the class of 2018.

But anyhow, just wanted to share my mini-heart attack moment with you guys and wish all of you that are still waiting good luck!

I just received an email from Georgetown asking for my final grades. Unfortunately, my semester ends today and grades won’t be available for another week. I’m going to just email them and ask if I can have my professors tell them my grades.

@CelloDiego do whatever you have to do. My advisor told me to contact department heads or individual professors and get them to write and sign something and scan it in if all else failed. If your school does mid-term report on transcripts you could use a format like that, as long as it states the “as of this day” showing that it’s current and up to date.

Good luck!
Hopefully good news comes to us both.

@CelloDiego This might be good news, especially if you have strong grades this semester! I had to do a mid-term grade report for JHU and WUSTL which basically involved having my professors write down my letter grade (with optional comments) and a signature that I then photocopied and mailed to them since my college doesn’t offer a mid-term report on transcripts.

Good luck everyone! Hopefully we’ll only be getting good news from you all!

My grades are the same as they have been previous semesters, though I did have to explain why I dropped some classes. Hopefully that won’t weigh too heavily against me.

Finger crossed for y’all still waiting to hear back. Especially @KingofSweden, I’ll her very surprised if you don’t get a big envelope.

@ArchibaldTuttle Thank you so much for your support, and a big congrats to you for your incredible achievement. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Last week for decisions. Anyone else panicking? Lol

I’m panicking, but for completely different reasons. I have until June 1st to SIR to Berkeley and begin all that panic at doing all their registration stuff last minute.
Good luck you guys! @CelloDiego @KingofSweden @GunninMed I’m rooting for you guys!

To everyone who has received an acceptance, have you guys received your financial aid package? Price is the one thing keeping me from saying yes.

Not panicking, but hopefully I’ll have some news today or tomorrow. Even though I had to explain some W’s this semester (the only ones on my record) I’m still pretty upbeat about my chances. I’ll definitely be refreshing my email around 2:30 PST!

There’s only about 38 accepted students in the transfer fb group, so hope remains…

Thank you @Morphe :)

I’m hopeful as well @CelloDiego. I received one B this semester, but only the second B of my two years, so I’m hoping my logic holds for the GPA bit. My email notifications will be the death of me though lol

@Luthsn gah fingers crossed…and toes.

Hi all! I’ve been following this thread for a couple of weeks now. Congrats to those that have been accepted!

PSA: I called the office today and was informed that letters will be sent out by mail tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday.

Good luck to everyone!

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH~! Few more days!!
I hope you guys get in. Fingers crossed!!

@Morphe so doing all the FinAid stuff is kind of a pain, really. The easiest thing to do is just call the FinAid office and annoy someone until they tell you, I reckon. I forgot to submit my IDOC stuff, so after scrambling to do that I’m waiting to hear back. If I don’t get any FinAid, I deserve it. Luckily my family is decently off, so I’m still going.

Also, I got an email from AU today informing me that the only housing they could offer me was in a converted common area with up to 17 other kids. I am so, so thankful to be going to Georgetown.

@ArchibaldTuttle lmao 17 kids what in the world?!!

I couldn’t even bear dorm rooms, had my own apartment since summer after high school lol the residency requirement at gtown creeps me out a bit
