The number of applicants that a majority of Ivy League schools are able to pick from is extremely small, so don’t let UPenn’s decision discourage you. NYU accepts a decent amount of transfer students so hopefully we all hear back in the next week or two.

@angelbeats Did you email them and that was a response to your email? Or did they send you that out of no where?

To me, it simply sounds like they haven’t made a decision yet. They’ve probably reviewed it. Or they just don’t want to tell you that they’ve already made a decision because you’d go crazy, so it’s safer to say “they haven’t made a decision yet.”

@greengecko I emailed them asking when would my decision be released. Why do you think they don’t want to release decisions which are already made? :((

@angelbeats because transfers are accepted on a rolling basis.

^ Yeah. They are releasing decisions based on how early you applied. So if you applied/submitted your materials on March 31, even though they may have already made a decision, you probably won’t hear back until the latter half of May (which sucks). Because I am a Tisch applicant and I turned in my materials on the 30th of March, I am worried I won’t hear back for a while, even though I have to do a summer session real soon…

@dfd112 How do you know NYU accepts a “decent” amount of transfer students? Just curious.

s

@crazynewton I have spoken to a transfer counselor at my school on many occasions and have done a ton of research. I read in a transfer guidance book that NYU is transfer friendly, especially for community college students and the book also included stats on number of transfer students they accept compared to the freshman class. Although the numbers aren’t huge, they are way higher than ivy leagues and other major universities (such as Stanford).

I sent my application on March 3th and still haven’t heard anything! They haven’t even checked my highschool transcript on Albert even tho I called today to make sure they got them since I did highschool in another country!!! Ughhh this is so nervewracking!!! :-S

Thanks @dfd112 ! and @angelbeats are you talking about NYU or Penn? lol

Thank you @dfd112 . Was only curious.

@dwarnock95 NYU lol

@Alecram My HS transcript has also not been checked off since they told me that they need my HS certificate of graduation. I took my HS in another country too so I was only able to email them a scanned version. They said that was okay but the HS transcript can be checked off only if they received the original one.

Does NYU tend to release decisions on Tuesdays and Thursdays?

After reading all the comments on how rolling decisions suck, all the admission officers must be like: They see me rollin’, they hatin’…

@crazynewton no worries! @greengecko, people from previous transfer threads seemed to think that but I honestly don’t think there is any favoritism towards Tuesdays and Thursdays… However I could be wrong!

@dfd112 what school are you applying to?

BTW, just an update. For those of you with the Fin Aid change, are you able to click on any of the years? Because I am able to hover over each year and click them (the row is then highlighted a different color), but it doesn’t open anywhere. Idk if it’s always been like that, but now I am at least able to “choose” something.

I like you guys. The should just open a school for the amazing people on this thread

@greengecko I applied to Gallatin! My top choice too so I’m really hoping I hear some good news soon… How about you?
@hopefully awe, I agree! Hopefully we all end up getting accepted!
