@theyadoreyou – I will try and talk to that university. I have applied for economics major at CAS at NYU.

There’s another concern of mine: none of my application materials is marked checked in the Application Status Check page. I had called up the admission office last week and they said they had all the documents on file and will update Albert in the next few days. But it still isn’t. Should I call the office again or wait for a communication from NYU instead?

Also, since I am an international student, I would appreciate if someone could share some insights on the Economics program at UMich as compared to that at NYU (both Arts&Science school), specifically in terms of employability, program reputation and faculty.

@banker92 Looking at last years thread CAS heard back pretty late in the process. Also as i mentioned in that earlier post it is ill advised to mention to other schools that you need an extension so you can hear from another university. As long as you tell them its for another reason, you should be able to get an extension. None of my materials are checked off either, but I know they have what they need from the email I received this morning. Unchecked materials are no cause for concern. If they need something they will email you!

Banker92- I also have my deposit deadline from UMich.
I called today and the office lady told me something like “the deadline is national” and cannot be changed by UMich… I might try live chat later lol,
Also, is it possible to put down deposit and not go to that school ? Is that illegal?

Last year I put a deposit down for Syracuse University and then I decided that I didn’t want to attend and they gave me the entire deposit back. I’d say it depends on how quickly you notify them that you want your deposit back but maybe it was just luck in my experience. Sometimes you can get 50% back.

On NYU’s welcome week page, it says “welcome new transfers” in a status posted a few hours ago… does this mean that they have sent out some decisions?

@purpleraindrops It’s throughout May. I know it’s painful to hear especially when they don’t tell you which week…but I’ll be checking my email profusely starting May 1.

I have a feeling that page is just to set up the events and have an official page not to actually welcome incoming students. I have been stalking instrgram #nyu for anyone posting acceptances lol. So far only grad students and first years.
