for f(0) + g(0) … it was two paragbolas, the answer was 3 right

it might have been just ten

@Chrysanthemum14 why would the diameter be greater than the side length? if the circle was hitting the 4 sides of the cube then the sq side length shud be the diameter…

If the sphere is in the cube and the side of the cube is 20, why isn’t the radius of the largest possible sphere 10?

f0+g0 is 3

@glasshours yeaaaah i got 2sqrt5 for the one where they make u find the slope of the line given the block arrangement and each side is 1

I dont see how it would be 10rad2 guys…

the cross section of a sphere in a cube at the middle would be represented by a circle in a square, right?

And the radius of that circle would be 1/2 the length of the sides of the square, no?

Ugh, I just realized the sphere inside the cube has to be 10… I didn’t visualize it correctly in my head. :((

lol mess. I thought the square was inside the sphere. If the answer is 10 rad 2 I’m still safe though.

@yousefk @glasshours never mind, I said 32 for Region I :slight_smile:

@glasshours

because the diagonal is 10rad2
imagine that the sphere is tilted sideways.

The sphere in a cube is just 10. The longest radius occurs when you draw a perpendicular line from the center to the plane, not the corner

Yeah. A sphere doesn’t touch the corners of a cube. Only the edges. So 10 is the radius.

How does one solve the quadratic equation question? I blanked.

@PoisonIvy20 - There were multiple quad eq questions, do you remember some of the numbers?

easy SAT lol the vocab was cake compared to last months

Guys what about the Jane Austen question. What did tremalan feel about the gaps/holes of missing letters?

Asking for a? Because it attains a minimum a should be positive, and there is only one option positive(A 2)

A parabola concave up when a is positive and down when a is negative

@Poisonivy20 that was a hard one, but I said that it was 2 because if it was negative (C, D, E) then it would be facing downward. and if it was 0 it would be no slope. but if 5 was a minimum then it has to be a parabola facing upwards. so it was 2.

Did anyone else feel like the math section was slightly harder than usual? The easy questions were easier, but the harder questions were harder…

Praying for a lenient math curve.

@PoisonIvy20 I’m assuming you mean the one with the value of a? because I had trouble on that one. I tried finding something algebraically but when that didn’t work I used logic to figure out the answer. If you think about it there was a minimum and for there to be a minimum it would have to face upward. therefore a must be positive. It can’t be 0 either because then it would become a straight line.

so the answer to the question that asked for a possible value of a was A
