***Official 2020 Georgetown RD Applicant Thread

I wasn’t aware I applied to Geoegetown. :))

Do you think calls will begin tomorrow?

I’m confused about how the calls work. When? Does everyone get one ?

Does anyone on this thread live in D.C? Please let us know if you got the mail :)>-

@golfstudent13, GT is closed today for Good Friday, so I doubt that phone calls will start today.

@Summer1998 I don’t live in DC but GTown is only 30 miles away from me so I’ll let you know if I get it in the mail today or not.

@admitmemaybe thank you and wish you good luck!

Are we sure admissions or students won’t be making calls today?

@nsliyromanov the school is closed and its good friday and Georgetown is catholic so its safe to assume that no calls will be made.

Not everyone gets one, but it is by region (east west midwest etc) and some accepted kids may not get it at all.

Thanks for everyone’s responses! Any mail?!

I live in MD like an hour from Georgetown, and my deferral letter came waaayyy after kids got it in Cali and Florida (basically anywhere but MD). So I am expecting my letter last…!!

Georgetown admissions is not closed today. They only close for state and federal holidays.

@Sassygogo I’m here in MD too, close to the Eastern Shore, and my deferral letter came a day early, somehow.

@markpasenter2 Georgetown Admissions IS closed today. Call their phone number, the recording says they’re closed. If they were open today, they would’ve opened by now (they opened at 9pm EST).

I’m not surprised–Good Friday is an important holiday in the Catholic religion as is the Easter weekend. I’m not surprised they took a three day weekend for this, especially considering Georgetown is Jesuit.

Ahh so nervous for the letter to come! I was just thinking and it also depends on what time they sent the letter. Like if they sent it closer to five it probably won’t get there tomorrow or if they sent it earlier it might. I wish we could know! This wait is going to kill me

I just hope I get my letter today.

@markpasenter2 Ditto.

According to USPS, I’m in the 2-day delivery zone so I really hope I get my mail tomorrow!! I live in a big city so either that’s a plus (as in mail operations are better here) or a minus (because they have so much mail to deliver)…

i live about 40 minutes from Georgetown. Does anyone know if I’ll hear back today?
