***Official 2020 Georgetown RD Applicant Thread

@crockmom you log online with your netID and there’s a tab!

Did any international students get rejection email? Or does Georgetown only send out emails with acceptance or waitlist?

Accepted!!! Just came home to find the envelope sitting on my bed…I was ecstatic.

I have a question for you guys. Does anyone know if Georgetown offers all-expense paid visits in April for low-income students??? I would love to know so I could plan accordingly.

Can someone post the stats for McDonough? I was waitlisted here… really upset and idk what more I could have done. Thanks.
Also any tips to get off the waitlist? Congrats to those who got in.

@haagensass I haven’t received my financial aid info either :frowning:

@aznstate98 did you fulfill all your student requirements? They make you agree to some terms before you can see it, that’s what I had to do

@haagensass - Thanks. It’s listed in the Acceptance Letter at the bottom. School/Major.

My portal is pretty empty. Literally only
Has one tab in which it asks me to pay the deposit.

@SafeFromScience I know myself, and I know that I would always feel like I didn’t earn my spot if I got in off the waitlist. Plus, I also know that I’ve waited years to figure out where I’m going, and it’s just not feasible for me mentally to be uncertain and financially for my family to be unsure about aid.

Info on waitlist envelope: feels thick, has three sheets of paper plus return envelope. Letter, return form to stay on waitlist, and statistics.

Waitlist envelope is also $.48

So the acceptance letter states that there were over 20,000 applications considered for 1,580 spots. I feel like I’m missing something but doesn’t this put the acceptance rate far below previous years?

@enigmaticmind no because the yield rate is something like 46% so they accept a little over 3000 but only around 46% of those people take their spot leaving the final number of people at 1580. So the acceptance rate is around 16-17% as they stated.

@1zogden1 That makes so much sense, thank you

2360 SAT 3.76 GPA UW. Waitlisted - shocked right now. I had legacy, wrote well, and had good scores, so I was legitimately expecting an acceptance.

35ACT; 3.8GPA rejected! Congrats everyone.

Any other int. applicants hear?

I am an international applicant but I have not received an email…am I just rejected without being notified?

Rejected. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be but congrats to all of you who got in!

I’m an international applicant and I just got my acceptance email today! Good luck to you all who are still waiting
