Official Acceptance Letters

This is my first posting on this forum, a friend just showed me this website. In January i was notified that i was my Congresswoman's "Principal Nominee" for West Point and that i had also recieved a competitive nomination to the Naval Academy. The letter from the Congresswoman clarified that the principal nomination guarenteed me a spot at West Point provided i meet the minimum requirments.... I am so confused... Whats going on with West Points Acceptance Letters, does anyone know when we will be recieving them .. I assumed that because i passed my PAE and medical tests, that i would have met the minimum requirments but i dont know for sure?? Someone please shed some light on my situation.

P.S.
My name is Chris i am from Texas , i want to get to know people before i go up there on R-Day...

Have you received your "triple Q" letter (that you are qualified academically, medically, and physically)? Minimum reqts also apply to the academics.

I would call my admissions rep ASAP.

I emailed my regional admissions commander asking him how my future a West Point was looking... He replied that it looks good and to give it a few more days.. I did reciece the "triple q". Is anyone else waiting on a final acceptance notification?

Triple q + principal nomination is usually a lock for an appointment. Surprised it has taken so long, unless you only finished your paperwork recently.

Good luck.

I don't know whats going on.. but i was reading the USNA forum today and it seems that many of them are also waiting on final notification of acceptance or lack there of :( .

Chris...nice ta meetcha...hopefully I'll be seeing you on Jun 27. My name's Gina...from WV.

Onto your question...the way I understand it the applications board only meets every other Tuesday I believe....so you may have been dropped in on an off week. Give it some time, you seem like a shoe in to me. Congrats for getting a nomination from a big state like Texas!

:)

Chris,

I saw on another thread that you received the appointment. Congratulations!

I'm sure that by hanging around here you'll meet a number of classmates. Also, there has been some discussion about trying to get together the day before R-Day someplace near the campus for anyone available and interested. Planning will likely begin in earnest as we approach the date and more people have made their travel plans.

MOT,
There's a church in Highland Falls that hosts a get together on the front lawn of the church for new cadets the afternoon before R Day. New Cadets get to meet and talk and parents were off to the side chatting with other nervous parents from every state in the union. The Supe and Com stopped by and shook hands and talked with the New Cadets and had their photos taken. All very casual and fun and well with traveling to from your hotel.
Where comfortable shoes for R Day, there's a lot of standing around.

Onmyway,

Thanks for the info. Do you know the name of the church. I'll volunteer to contact them to see if they are planning it for this year also. Then we can post the time and location here for everybody.

MOT,
I don't know the name, but it is a Protestant church across from the WP museum. It has a big lawn in the front and I believe they do it every year.
I think that Dolores Salvatore sends out a notice and it'll show up on Prospective-Net, too. If you have any questions about R Day and Beast PM me.

In '07 the reception in Highland Falls occured on Saturday afternoon so be sure to verify the time. On Sunday consider going to services at the Cadet Chapel. There is a reception for the New Cadets and families after the service and in '07 the Com was there to greet and speak to the New Cadets.

Good luck to all of the New Cadets. We may be there also, if an Appointment happens to come to my youngest son who is still on the NWL for the Class of '09.
