<p>Is just merit aid listed. Does anyone else who isn't receiving need based aid see their merit scholarships. I know s must be receiving something he listed them as his merit finalist 1st choice. The should give some money even if it's a small amount but nothing is showing.</p>
<p>I'm not receiving need-based aid and my scholarship info is listed, but perhaps the school hasn't had a chance to put up all the info on everyone's portals...</p>
<p>My son had his scholarships showing and a loan. He is also a NM Finalist and that is not listed. I imagine that will come later as the deadline is the end of March with awards to be announced in April / May. At least that is what we read.</p>
<p>juniormom, you said that your son recieved a scholarship and is a NMF. do you know if he will get the scholarship that is listed PLUS $$ for NM, or does the listed scholarship include NM (or can you only receive 1 scholarship from American)? I'm in the same boat - receiving a scholarship accorsing to portal, but nothing about NM is listed (probably because I haven't yet designated AU as my first choice for NM...has your son?). Also, do you know if American has a specific deadline for having them selected as your first choice in order to get $$, or is it the same as the NM deadline?</p>

<p>Hi 70reve4rotag ~ He did designate American as his first choice school. We called a couple of weeks ago and they said that the NMF info would be out later. We are assuming that if it was part of his package at this point it would be listed. They actually said someone would be in touch about it once they receive their final NMF list. So I guess we are hoping that the NMF would add dollars to his package. He is trying to sort out many options and look at the financial picture, where he wants to be geographically etc as he makes this decision. I believe the deadline to note a school is your first choice is in March. Best of Luck with your decisions! JM</p>

<p>Just so you know, I'm a freshman right now at AU - majoring in International Studies. I'm in the Honors program as well. So if any of you have questions about anything at AU, feel free to contact me! Last year I asked as many questions as I could and really felt that I knew how different aspects of AU life went, how I should plan academically, and even other things I wondered about (how intramurals worked, etc.) So I am happy to answer questions for the next year of students! :)</p>

<p>I sent in my application a little before Thanksgiving and have not recieved an official decision by email. Does this mean I am rejected, or does it mean my application was not reached yet.</p>

<p>oceangoddess: idk.. i mean i sent my app like the latest date possible (I sent it through their online system the day of the deadline... like what was that jan 15?). Yete again i'm not an admissions officer. There really isn't much you can do becides waiting it out, unless you want to call the school, just to make sure they aren't missing anything, because if they are msising stuff, then they can't make decisions. </p>

<p>So it looks like 100% acceptance except for me and oceangoddess because you see I actually didn't get an email and am kinda bummed....I mean I felt like I was definitely gonna get into American and I don't think its my #1 but all the same it would have been nice to hear some good news from any school. I'm right there with you oceangoddess, I'm sure we'll both hear soon enough.</p>

To go find your financial aid you have to make sure you hit the forward arrow on the screen to go to the aid for the 2005-2006 school year, not the 2004-2005 one which is what automatically shows up.</p>
<p>I think they update constantly. There was info today on my son's scholarship in the financial aid award section but not yesterday.</p>

1240 and 3.75-so prolly no merit aid. Also i completely forgot about that finincial form thingy that had to be filled out that was due feb 15...so american seems out of reach as of now :-/</p>

<p>Presidential Scholarship is merit based and comes in different monetary amounts.</p>
