Official ACT June 11th thread

a+b+c=50 and a<0, b<20 while a,b,c integers. What is the minimum C? We need to maximize a, b, so thats -1 and 19. -1 + 19 = 18. 50-18 = 22, the minimum for C.

For the one that gives you one angle is greater than the other for the pair of crossing lines, the two top segments are never parallel.

well there was one about an angle being bigger than another and they were alt. interior angles so the false statement were the two lines being parallel.

The math was easy. I finished in like 30 min and check everything twice. Pretty sure i got a 36 math.

I believe the question about the delay, was talking about how large object - sun - cause there to be a delay, when you send/recieve a signal.

for the delay graph, did it look like a parabola going up to the right then stopping in the middle, only to look like a parabola going down to the right the final half of the graph...it made sense.

Science was real easy, the only exception being the planet/angle section which was tougher since i only skimmed the figures and writings. i had to do the final 10 q's in 5 minutes but the last 10 were easy!

Anyone think they got a 36 composite? I bomb the reading comp (i suck at reading) but did good in the rest.

I know this probably stupid, but was the one where it said which two last numbers can be from a perfect square?

would the greatest delay have been at the graph when venus behind/on top of the sun and earth was in front/below the sun

gexx....56 i think. i' think i might have got a 35 gkilla. my practice tests were 36's in 2 or 3 sections each but that was in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Tsmallzxc, how do you figure it out? (perfect square)

I think I bombed the Albert Einstein passage. :(

i put that too! and gexxman, this answer was 56 because rad 256 = 16.

256 = 16^2.

Math and Writing went well for me, I thought the 1st reading passage was a little confusing and there were also a couple questions from the other passages that bothered me, science....really confusing and I ran short on time so I had to start guessing on the monkey questions. Anyone else remeber the question asking about the what the narrator's reaction to her sister's letter showed? Some of the choices were sense of humor, she disagrees with her sister's critique, she doesn't understand her sister's critique, or she wants to be loved by her sister.

if you missed 1 on math, what would that be?

it would be a 35

For the triangle one I forgot to double the 4... gah. And I didn't pick parallel for that one.. crap I did horribly.

35 or 34 - depends on the curve.

i put sense of humor for that one

so did i, sense of humor.

I put sense of humor as well

edit: we got one right!
