^ Apparently, there’s a lot of people at my nearby schools doing that for summer hw.
I, fortunately, don’t have any summer hw for AP Bio :)

So how applicable is the 3rd edition of Cliffs?

I think cliffs is still applicable for the memorization part of the Ap exam … but as we all know there isnt going to be as much merorization and more appling stuff … but i hope cliffs makes a 4th edition
Or atleast some GOOD prep book makes a new edition for this year

This is probably a stupid question but how would I argue/answer for “Dispute: Most living organisms fossilize after death, so fossils in exemplary condition are easily found all over the world.”

Most organisms that die do NOT fossilize. Think about it, most will not land on a nice patch of calcium carbonate or similar mineral when they die. They will likely die in a grassland or forest or similar environment and proceed to decompose into nitrogen, carbon and other ‘building block’ elements.

What types of tissue will fossilize? E.g. I know bones have a chance at fossilizing, but what about the brain? Why or why not?

Anyway, there’s some great review/intro. biology stuff I posted a page or so back.

Turn them into a Word Document ^

@IceQube: I really like your review! Thanks for taking your time to write it :)

I have to read chapters 1, 6, and 25 of Reece and Campbell, 8th edition. We then have to complete a packet of 75 multiple choice questions. The questions are all from previous AP Bio tests though, so you could just google them for the answers…I wonder if she realizes this or not. I won’t cheat, but I know others who will. I’m also doing all of the Concept Checks and Review Checks just because I want some extra practice, and making flashcards of all the terms that I don’t already know. I also frequent MIT StudyHacks to pick up reading tips, like skimming the whole chapter first, then reading it, will boost your comprehension of the material.

I am taking this. I have summer hw, my class is using Campbell:Concepts and Connections. I am studying for USABO so I am using regular campbell’s myself.

So how are you guys doing?

Just finished my second week of school. Over the summer we did four chapters on ecology, and we’re just now finishing up two chapters on water and carbon and the role they play in life. :)

I hope the rumors about this class aren’t true. XD

None of the rumors are true.

What rumors?

Soo … umm hows everyones Ap bio class ? lmaoo just to keep this thread alive i guess … were starting chapter 3 bout water what makes it soo special etc. etc. lol

I don’t start school for another 2 weeks lol

I’m gonna start school on Wednesday.

Did you all have something assigned to do over the summer ? That’s odd. I never had anything assigned to us. ((O.o))

And what are the rumors about this class ? !

<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;
that website basically gives u a play by play of what will be on the ap exam going by sections in whatever book u have … i have cambell and reece and when i went section by section and marked what they said will be on the exam there will be No plants the only thing from plants will be the angiosperm reproduction and biotechnology also plant responses to internal and external signals … and the only human body stuff will be from the immune system and nervous system …

I have summer homework (Your Inner Fish, Survival of the Sickest, assignments to go along with those books and textbook work). Hope the exam won’t be that bad :C

I feel so behind! Stupid New York, we don’t even start school until next week. And yet we still have to take the AP exams in May, so we get behind before we’ve even started. But I did have summer homework. Two chapters of the textbook with a reading guide. I’m also using MIT open-course software to help me get a jump on things. I really want to get a 5 on this test!

Today was my first day of school, and I’m liking the new AP Biology curriculum so far, it’s different and they require lab notebooks now.
