Does anyone know if the practice tests in Barron’s are harder or easier than the actual exam (the actual tests, not the mc after each chapter)?

^^^ I wanna know too.
I missed 13 on MC for practice exam two in barrons, and I wanna know if the actual test is easier.

The actual test is easier. I did the barron’s and the 2009 released exam.

Any other released exams besides the 2009 one?

I’m self taught in Java (with 4+ yrs of experience), but am really worried about this exam. I’m averaging ~ 75% correct on MC, and just about the same for FRQ, but I didn’t take Comp Sci as a class, and am worried about the tricks they’ll try and throw at me.

Anybody have any idea what to watch out for?

Lets try this out, use this google doc to study
https://docs.google.com/document/d/175ba1awZmbiJU7zAw4BSCeGoFT1T6MpYV6TBOIRhehQ/edit</a></p>

hi does anyone have the 2004 released AP computer science exam?

Anyone have a site for GridWorld? I still don’t really get it.

@terrapin45 I’m in the same situation. Watch out for “removing items with a loop using ArrayList or List”. Because if you remove items this way, you skip certain indices because ArrayList and List shrink.
That question got me quite a lot.

Yeah, @fr3ih3it, that got me during one of the first practice exams I took. I think a big downside of knowing the language really well is that I don’t really read the questions fully, as I grasp what they’re asking quickly… Thus leading me into those traps.

Have you had any luck with GridWorld? I can answer the MC questions, but I don’t know the code thoroughly for the FRQ that they’ll ask on it.

Email me @ Dipenp97@gmail.com to get added to a study group google doc

@terrapin45 Yeah, i agree. Also, I tend to let the compiler catch errors for me. For MC in GW, I can get like 2/3 of the questions; for FRQ, i can get a 5 if I’m lucky.

I must have ADHD or something, anytime i read a question with +4 lines, I completely lose focus…

Instead of using google docs, can we just use piratepad?? Because on the off chance that some College Board guy sees us talking about APCS when we shouldn’t, at least piratepad is anon. Stuff on piratepad is also semi permanent because of timeslide so it’s not like some ■■■■■ will just delete the entire thing.

Hey I understand that this is a bit late but I’m in need of help. I have my APCS A exam tomorrow morning. I’m order to receive any credits for the class I need to get at least a 3 on the AP exam. (It’s an online course at my school so the AP is how they judge if you actually learned). My problem is that the online course has taught me very little about Computer Science and I do not feel confident. I have basic understanding of loops arrays and grid world (enough to get around to get around a 25 on multiple choice section). However, I’m having an insanely difficult time answering the open ended questions. Is there anything I can do to get half credit on these? Any strategies? I hear that if you attempt a loop and call the methods you can get partial credit.
TLDR=I need some tips before the exam on how to get some credit for the open ended section.

Read through some of the recent questions (like 2012 and 2013) and corresponding answers. Obviously, you don’t necessarily have time to try them out, but if you know what kind of solutions they’re looking for, you’ll have an easier time with the FRQ

So what do I do? Just look at the answers and write similar things for the free response? If I don’t get a 3 on this I have practically wasted a ton of time.

Also, any tips for the multiple choice? My strongest areas of knowledge are for loops and arrays? What is the other most asked thing?

I posted facts that I usually forget here. There are some tips I figured out.

@fr3 it says the pad is full. Can you copy paste the important stuff here? Thanks a bunch. I truly appreciate it.
