Does using 9 out of 11 documents still award the expanded core point (uses majority or all of documents)?

I don’t think so @676339784

@guanlinzhou I was very specific and said he was only referring to language, not the entire French culture. I think if you said that he was for preserving French culture, you should be fine.

If I made an error on my frqs how much points would I be docked? :frowning: I did 2 and 7, and for 2 I mentioned how Napoleon was despotic and did not allow suffrage which is incorrect but that was the only error I had in the frq so what would be the highest score I can get with that error? Also on 7, I mentioned Copernicus even though he wasn’t in the time period 1600-1750 would that be considered a major error? And would I be docked a lot of points for that too? Any help is appreciated. I’m very worried.

@specialsnowflake I mentioned Copernicus as well. If you had other examples of people (Kepler, Galileo, etc.) you will be fine. Also, since Copernicus is traditionally considered part of the Scientific Revolution, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make an exception for him on hte grading rubric.

@CGlynn Yeah, I also mentioned Galileo and Newton for the scientists and Voltaire and Diderot for the philosophers so hopefully that would get me a good score. Fingers crossed. And do you know about the Napoleon error? I thought that essay was my stronger one if I only didn’t make that mistake.

@specialsnowflake You will be fine with the second one then.

If it was very strong, then you will probably only get docked a point or so. 1 major error can drop you from a 9 to an 8 or an 8 to a 7, but one error isn’t going to drop you from an 8 to a 5.

@CGlynn Alright, thanks for the reassurance!

For the pov about the soccer player I said that his source of national pride could come from being a part of the national team and representing the nation that way and trying to win for his nation…I wasnt sure if my thought process was clear enough but do you think i will get credit?

@lizard12421 That could work. Depends on the grader. I said that the soccer player was likely saying that because as an immigrant he would want to be accepted and is likely trying to gain support for other immigrants’ assimilation.

@specialsnowflake I also mentioned that "Copernicus created the Heliocentric theory, while Brahe, Kepler and Galileo helped develop it. Pretty sure we’ll be fine

and Newton for his mechanized view of the world

@guanlinzhou I mentioned Newton for his Newtonian World Machine and Deism, Galileo discovering that the moon was not made of perfect matter and also supporting the idea of the heliocentric theory, and Copernicus for his heliocentric theory. And then I mentioned Voltaire’s view of religion through his quote of “Crush the infamous thing” and how Diderot thought Christianity was fanatical and then how both supported religious toleration. Hopefully that is enough information, I realized after the test that I should have mentioned Pascal and Spinoza but oh well.

Also, for those who did the frq about Napoleon and the French Revolution, did you guys mention the main goals of the french revolution? I said that they were Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity but now I’m worried that I should have went more in depth of the main goals such as how they wanted to get rid of absolutism.

I had Voltaire, Locke, and Hobbes but then I realized that I screwed up after the test.

I left the word “bigotry” out of the sentence “Voltaire was against religion”

I mentioned that Napoleon went with the FR ideals of equal opportunity and equality before the law (Napoleonic Code) and went against the ideals of women’s rights and of democracy. That was all I had time for.

I used voltaire, Locke, hobbes, Hume and baron d holbach. @guanlinzhou how’d you mess up?

I separated my body paragraphs by whether he supported or undermined equality, liberty, and fraternity and I also mentioned those @guanlinzhou
