I’ve got a question about something really dumb that I did. So, for the DBQ and prompt 7, I forgot to write what essays they were in the top right hand corner in that box. I did put them in the order of 1, 3 and then 7, and I put the sticker that said what prompts I wrote on the front on my packet. I also put question 3 and page 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 on the pages for my 2nd essay, so its a break between questions 1 and 7 and it makes it kind of obvious, so it shouldn’t matter too much, right? just panicking, or is this a real issue for my test?
I think they said that it would delay grading, so you should be fine
Exactly they just said it might delay grading…
but if you put the sticker on I’m sure you will be fine.
Cool thanks guys!
Thanks for the reassurance guys. This class is the most I’ve ever learned in a school year. I really really loved this class, and my teacher is hands down my favorite teacher of all time. Thanks for being the best community of ap students out there guys!
For the POV… I put the magazine was biased because it was the largest “trade union” organization…
The teacher, because (forgot reason)
And forgot the other 2…
What did you guys group?
@Waldoizhere , my DBQ was 7 pages… my frq (3 and 7) was 3.5 (i think 1 was 4 idr).
@verizonwireless im not sure that length rlly influences score
Don’t the prompts get released today?
@Waldoizhere I whole heartedly disagree!! Not look at the college board sample 9s , and keep in mind that the reader has 40 secs to read your essay. Therefore the more you write the more the minor flaws get pushed off to the side
Prompts just got released.
Re our arguments from yesterday, when the guy said “A language is alive. It develops completely autonomously. You can’t legislate it. . . . French was born [in the Middle Ages] because Latin was in decline. The idea that we can stop the development of the language now is a foolish one.”, he is saying that you should let a language do what it wants and change/develop. Therefore, I think that he is clearly advocating for certain changes to be allowed to happen.
And also the magazine to me, as I look at it with fresh eyes, clearly suggests that many people saw it as an invasion since they are even holding an opinion poll on it.
Finally, the trade union poster shows that workers should work together. I think that I said it was biased because it was trying to advance the government agenda of getting more workers into the country.
And also: Will they count it was a misinterpretation if your bias is not exactly correct (for example I mentioned the government even though it was not even from the government)?
4 page essays can also be 5’s. Length is irrelevant. It’s all about content and analysis. Also, I believe the language doc was calling for cultural change and I said the poster of the workers was biased because they were of course going to advocate for worker equality and rights as a union. @CGlynn I think it has to be a major misinterpretation, as in you complete miss what the author was saying. I think they will just overlook slight errors, but I’m not 100% sure. It depends on how hard you hammered the detail
@Falconsroach7 I just said that the poster was advocating for more immigrant workers to accomplish what the government wanted (which was more immigration). It will probably get overlooked.
Anyone write 7 and move away from the purely cultural piece? I mentioned how hobbes and Locke introduced the social contract, so divine right collapsed, meaning religion no longer served as the right to rule and was no longer used to justify wars, policies etc. Anyone else take this angle?
I think they will give some leeway on the language guy because he did also say that “I am for the preservation of culture, but not by decree”, which I basically paraphrased.
By “pages” do you mean just fronts, or fronts and backs?
what
oh i think front and back
I should really be studying for bio right now
