Official Ap Us History Thread! (: 5/9/08

MC - wtheck. i didn't know half of those obscure people. =P and i was falling asleep during the second half haha
DBQ - good thing i made my friend summarize the vietnam war for me before school...
FRQ - most intense bsing session ever, esp on #2.. ahahha

haha i don't care anymore. i'll take a 4.

@collegebound2009, it was the phrase in quotes

i wasn't familiar with the expression but i think i was sufficiently vague enough to discuss it anyway

mc's i got owned. i left about 25-30 blank and i had about 3 but i really didnt watn to guess. the frq were easier for me though i probably didnt use enough details.

---collegebound that is what i assumed as well, but it is not the case. For the last of the three choices (cant say what) the quoted idea involved worsening -the third category-.

Missing around 3-5 with none left blank.

i wrote #3 and #4.
My 3 is terrible but I know I couldn't have done better on number 2 and that's why I didn't choose it. I got home and I saw that for number 3, I pretty much wrote about a different time period. :( I am hoping for at least a 3... :(

Multiple Choice was pretty bad, but what I thought I knew, I was pretty sure about. My class collectively breathed a sigh of relief when we saw the DBQ; a girl in my class had told us about a practice test DBQ entirely about General McClellan. Nothing else. This one was much broader, thank goodness. I'm betting my essay was an 8. The other two, however, I'm not quite sure on. I'm hanging right between a 4 and a 5, mostly depending on my non-DBQ essays (3 and 5).

Essay lengths were about four-five pages on essay 1, 3ish pages for 3, and 2.5 pages on 5.

What were you even supposed to talk about on the DBQ?

I just somehow rambled on about Civil RIghts act of 1964 and how immigration act of 1965 repealed the quota act of 1920s bringing social tensions blahblahblah ... and then i started talking about hippies.

gosh it was so bad! my teacher told us vietnam war wouldn't be there...

it kinda seems like most people did #3 and #4 for FR

i thought the MC was ridiculous. it was just way too specific.

i'm pretty sure i got a 5. the MC was very easy for me, and i'm certain i got no more than 10 wrong, and may have gotten no more than 5 wrong or even just one of two wrong (none omitted). i thought i wrote a great essay for the dbq, so i'm sure it's at least a 7, possibly an 8 or 9. the FRQs were tougher, but i think i got at least a 5 on #2, and at least a 6 on #4. so yeah, i think a 5 is definitely a reasonable prediction

...but i don't want to be too confident :(

What did u guys put the economic part of the DBQ? i totally blanked out. I came up with some stuff but it was my weakest paragraph. What did u put in???

for the economic part of dbq....lbj spent hella moneyy on the war instead of the great societyy.

loved the dbq! xD well, i wrote a whole bunch of 1968 stuff 'cause it was what we reviewed, and i hope writing "the president" instead of an actual name won't cost me.

the mc was too easyy! until i flipped to the last page, and didn't get like seven of them. ><"

haha, i screwed up essayy #2 [[wrote like a paragraph and a half -___-"]] but dbq & essayy #3 was prettyy alright.

myy teacher hella said that clinton was always on there &to just remember "perjury" and BAM, it was the second mc. (]= i'm surprised that none of the mc was on reagan though! &haha, there were no tv's in the 1920s. xD

uhhh....did i fail the DBQ if i said kennedy bombed laos and cambodia? x_x

and is this enough outside info for at least a 6 on each essay?

DBQ: counter culture, kent state, UC berkeley, hippies, africanamericans/civil rights, draft dodgers, tet offensive, bombing laos/cambodia, diem coup, pentagon papers, stagnation, division of social class, anti-govt feelings, americanization, vietnamization, nixon's air attacks

FRQ 1: john rolfe, pocahantos, tobacco, biological/cultural exchanges, quakers, bacon's rebellion, indentured servants, new england confederation, iroqouis confederation

FRQ 2: FDR, FDR in WWII, Great Depression (nation had common goal-->come out of depression), New Deal, no longer sectional parties, more liberal Democrats.....
[i hate thinking back and realizing how much more you could have added in! haha. like how hoover was republican....and everyone was unhappy with how he handled the depression]

MC: ~70 answered (didnt finish!). maybe 20 incorrect?

was this enough? help please!

you had a lot more than i had in terms of outside info in the dbq, but way less on the 2nd frq. I think you're good though for the dbq at least. donno about the frq.

thanks for the response. anyone else have an opinion?

im kind of panicking about failing the DBQ because i said the wrong president bombed laos and cambodia....is it going to hurt me immensely?

wow, overall the exam was a lot easier than what I was anticipating. The mc was relatively easy, the dbq couldn't have been more perfect, yet I'm least confident in my 2nd FR.

I'm hoping for at least a 4.

lmao. i did not put any outside info for the DBQ cuz i didn't study anythin from WWII->present. what will i get =P

mc: OK, I suppose. Skipped 3 because I had no idea, and I was uncertain on quite a few Hoping for 68+

dbq: I thought I did OK before posting here, but I definitely did not put in as much outside information as peaceofcake 4/5 /9

frq 3: I wasn't quite sure what the market revolution was, but I made some inferences, and they turned out to be correct, so we'll see.. 5/6 / 9

frq 4: Eh, OK. . 4/5 9

Super borderline

ok can u guys tell me what constitutes like a 5 out of 9?

flaming - same here. uh oh - I really want a 5, I think I aced the DBQ, FR not so great - maybe 1.5 pages per...
