Official Barnard Regular Decisions Thread CO'14

I’m not an int’l but I definitely know how you feel! Barnard emailed me and said I was missing 3 things XD

Hi, I’m new to this but I think its great to find other women who are interested in going to this college!!! I applied Regular Decision and I am so excited about it. I fell in love with Barnard, actually when I was touring Columbia University, it has the best of both worlds(a small school in a big city). I mean all of the great opportunities avaliable being in New York, is amazing! I recentely got a call about being interviewed for the BOP program which is exciting!!! Well I wish all of you guys the best of luck, I cant wait till April!!

Oh also I see there are alot of theatre people on here too! I am one theatre junkie too! LOL my school just finished up our production of “Urinetown:The Musical” I love musical theatre and Improv, because I am in an improv group at my school. Thats all!

ahaha
I think almost every prospective is into theatre in some shape or form. It’s cool to see other theatre ppl applying!
how do you feel about your chances of gaining acceptance??

When do decisions come out?

Does Barnard host a Admitted Students Weekend in April?

Yes Barnard hosts at least one admitted student event in April.

Yeah, Barnard is hosting three this year.
One of them is a day event, one is a day+overnight, and one has two days+overnight. All are in April. I think you can only pick one.

Do you have the dates?

Monday, 4/12 Day Program
(with an option for a Sunday overnight visit)

Sunday - Monday, 4/18-19 Open House

Thursday, 4/22 Day Program

Thank you for the information. Hopefully my D will have a chance to use them!

In the past, when do applicants usually find out about decisions? I’m here in california (pretty much as far from New York as you can get) and is dying to know about the results!

sammiw0ng: If you look at past RD threads, applicants were usually receiving their decisions at the end of March (around the 30th?). April 1st is the stated deadline to notify, though! I’m from California too and I’m anxious out of my mind for Barnard results.

Accepted students will receive Express Mail envelopes towards the end of March. Others will get letters via snail mail, which usually takes a little longer. International applicants will get e-mails, usually before others hear.

It’s rough…be prepared…those big envelopes do NOT all arrive at the same time, so stay strong, ladies! All the best to all of you. The wait is almost over…

It’s less than three weeks away! So anxious!

Wow, its amazing how we managed to wait three and a half years but these next three weeks seem to be never-ending. Gosh, I want a big envelope so badly! *fingers crossed and three more weeks!

Just a little bit less than 17 days until we hit the deadline to notify.

They are going to be TOUGH days.

I have spring break next week, so I’m excited - that will help pass the time.

13 days until April 1. Spring Break is the week of decisions so that will make it so much easier on me. I can’t wait until we can all come back with good news (maybe crosses fingers). Good luck everyone, even though this will not be the last time I hang around this thread!

International applicant here, hasn’t heard from Barnard yet… If the email is sent on 25th, does it mean a rejection if I haven’t received it now?

No, I don’t think so. For ED they sent out both acceptance and rejection emails the same day, I think. Maybe they just haven’t gotten to the emails yet, since they’re probably a lot busier for RD.

The ED email was sent on a Friday, so maybe today? And I got mine just before the office closed, so you don’t necessarily have to sit by your computer all day. :)

Good luck!!
