Official Barnard Regular Decisions Thread CO'14

Q: Is there anything I can do to help my application at this point?
A: You should send your postcard indicating that you wish to still be considered back to the Admissions Office right away. You may also send a letter to the Dean of Admissions, Jennifer Gill Fondiller, indicating your continued interest in attending Barnard. If you wish to send other supplemental information, you may send materials to the Office of Admissions, 111 Milbank Hall, 3009 Broadway, New York, NY 10027. Additional information is most effective when it offers a new and different perspective on your candidacy. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate interviews for waitlisted candidates.

From the Barnard website.

rejected and feeling a bit blue. it’s ok though
I wish the best for all you accepted ladies :)

I’m in MN and I haven’t received anything yet. I applied ED and was deferred and I had my hopes set really high - hoping to be admitted in the RD round - but now I’m expecting a rejection on Monday. I’ll be back in school and it will be a painful wait.

waitlisted. but i’m actually very thankful to get this chance at a reevaluation because i was expecting a rejection for sure.

that being said, does anyone know barnard’s average yield rate?

Even if you were waitlisted, you should be thankful for not being rejected. It was a hard admissions time for them. I’m still waiting on mine, I’m from TX :frowning: so i’m extremely nervous! thinking positive thoughts :smiley: can the accepted/rejected/waitlisted students put their stats on? thanks :D

Rejected :frowning: I’m crushed.
I wish I had applied ED, because after the early deadline I realized that it was 100% my top choice. Ugh, I just feel so ****ty right now, and my mom’s on vacation so I have to wait a week for her to come home all excited and tell her I didn’t get in :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
Everyone who was waitlisted, at least feel happy that they’re still considering you. Everyone who got in, congrats.

I’m sorry to hear about that sanxie :(

:/ rejected…

Did the acceptances come by express mail or snail mail? I saw the acceptances in the NYC area came by snail mail. But, what about other parts of the country? I’m in MN.

Accepted!! Received express mail letter today in the mail. D is very honored but no FA probably means no Barnard. It would have been a perfect school, D loves so many things about it, especially NYC. Good luck to all those accepted and waitlisted. I am sure you will all find a school that is the perfect fit for you!

@ellenmpls

I’m from MN too! I haven’t received anything, and all is to come by snail mail - acceptances by express, waitlists/rejects by first class.

ACCEPTED!! check my stat profile for stats, if interested. envelope is big, white USPS :)

Daughter accepted today. Big envelope (US Priority Mail) arrived in south Florida this morning!

Express envelope/package arrived in NH today. With a cute little subway map attached inside.

Hey everyone,
Congrats to those who were accepted, condolences to those who were rejected. I’d like to say I was rejected as well. I truly felt amazing after a deferral in the ED round, but when I walked home, leaving early from school on Friday, I gasped at what I saw in the mail. Getting my hopes up crushed me because I thought Barnard was the lock to unique key of potential. Girls, all I have to say is be strong. Whether you are rejected or accepted. Barnard is a challenge, and not all can say that they love the school as much as they did when they were accepted.
Who has plans on transferring?

Got acceptance yesterday from MI

accepted yesterday in socal
happiest girl in the world :)

@pr3352

socal as in southern california??? ah! i live there (or here) too. wow, congrads! i’m still waiting… i’m scared!~ ><

Accepted!!! Best feeling ever!!! I can’t wait to meet everyone =]

Hey everyone who was waitlisted,
I was in your exact same position last year and I ended up getting in. Write a letter to the school explaining once again why you want to go to Barnard, and try to make it as personal as possible, explaining what specifically it is about the school that you love. I wish you all the best of luck, I remember the waiting period was so stressful as I was trying to find my second choice school, while still all the while hoping to get that call from Barnard! If any one has questions let me know and I’ll try to help!
