Thats another BS example any of these schools have good alumni networks in boston

Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Brandeis, Northeastern, WPI, Holy Cross, BU. AAhhh yes then there is BC of course.

Class2009college go start a thread on that. Not here this the BC overrated thread. Im clearly right because no one has offered a valid point as to why BC is ranked so highly. COME ON PEOPLE

Let’s presume BC is overrated. Surely it’s not the only overrated school out there, yes? So why do you choose to focus on it?

why don’t you come up with a list of why BC is overrated? All you are doing is bashing a school without any basis.

well schempi the reason why it’s overrated is because they have no stand out programs.

really? so then which schools ranked lower than BC has amazing stand out programs?

Does anyone else think that BrownBear1 is quite (note this does not mean “quiet”) overrated?

Ny0rker i’ll let you do the research for the one but as i said before BC is overrated and should be out of the top 50 or in the high 40’s at best. BC is the Most overrated school in the country and no one has backed up any sort of evidence as to why it belongs next to NYU.

(sigh) i just want the general public to understand where i am coming from. I believe my reasoning is justified. I will end my tantrum here. = (

"(sigh) i just want the general public to understand where i am coming from. I believe my reasoning is justified. I will end my tantrum here. = ( "

I’m glad you realize that you are causing tantrum. I highly do believe you have an obssession with Boston College. Just admit it.

Did you apply to boston college?

House of London, I was concentrating on the top 50 and when i looked at the ranking i was completely shocked at BC’s ranking because it is not justified. (sigh) but i guess people don;t understand my reasoning. I will end my tantrum = (

I did not apply to BC for the 100th time

Why do you care then? I dont know much about BC but I know that US news ranking is greatly skewed.

Because i’m from Mass and i like to callout something that isn’t right such as BC’s overrated prestige. Im telling you the academics their are average.

Were you that distraught that you had to go out of your way to post a thread about how BC is overrated. Isn’t college hard enough that you wouldn’t have time for this? I can bet you don’t know the methodology behind USNWR so hence you cannot justify as to why BC shouldn’t be ranked where it is. FYI, rankings comprise of much more than academic quality–such as Peer assessment, endowment, alumni giving, acceptance rate etc. And clearly BC was superb enough in those areas to earn it the 34th or w/e spot. Yeah, ignorance really is not bliss like you mentioned before.

house of london did you read this

What does this school have to offer seriously? Jesuit education? a mid tier business school? honestly its got decent sports and??? what programs stand out at BC??? did i mention they have no engineering program. At least NYU has superior programs such as Tisch, Stern, the econ and math department are outstanding and highly ranked. What about BC? Anyone out there…HELLO provide some evidence!

LOL ok buddy what programs are outstanding at BC??? business is ranked mid tier…but what else for undergrad? House of london since you are such an advocate of BC please list some strengths.

Everybody, ignore the BC ■■■■■ and it’s thread and both will die slowly.

LOL yeah thats right you got nothing. Anyways i will stop my tantrum here (sigh)

BrownBear1: Stop it already! There is no need to defame any school like this. It shows immaturity, and yes, arrogance.
I will tell you the reason I turned down NYU Stern BPE and USC Marshall for BC Carroll (all great schools, in my opinion). Yes, Boston College has only “decent” sports (Tier I sports is only decent?). Yes, it only has “decent” programs, including the business one (I don’t think BROWN is ranked very highly in many programs, and BROWN doesn’t even have any specialty programs besides engineering and PLME). Yes, it doesn’t have an engineering school (that shouldn’t matter, I’m going into business anyways). However. there is one thing that distinguished Boston College from the other research universities I have applied to. It fits me perfectly. It has a quiet serenity about it that not many other schools had, including NYU. The business school emphasizes ethics instead of competition, something very lacking in the top business programs. The people at Boston College are not cutthroat or elitist, but smart and genuine, something I found lacking in other top schools. Boston is closer to home, but far enough that I don’t have to see my friends. The student and faculty body are nicer and are more willing to help. The overall experience feels more communal instead of individual without relying on Greek. So yes, I would have gone to NYU if I were ready to live on my own, but as I am only 16, I will save NYU for law and business school and go where I can mature into an adult without having to deal with pressure. I made my choice not on prestige, but overall fit, and I believe my choice is the right one.

^ ownnnedd ahahah ^

Brownbear1 knows this already. He just enjoys ■■■■■■■■ the area with his BC mantra.
