Official Brown 2011 Transfer Thread

I’m assuming if you were able to see the awards then there is a good chance you’re in.

@megayo and Sparkin

Did you guys have the personal info tab?

i had the personal info tab

@XferStudent

Yes, but I don’t think it means anything. A person who got in earlier also had the personal info tab.

kk thanks 10char

Did anyone who got in and applied for aid NOT have grants or anything listed?

I called at 10:59 AM and have not heard back. This is bad news bears.

almost 3 hours since I called… still nothing :/

Rejected, applied for aid. Looks like Brown won’t be getting a student-run fire troupe (that was a part of my Brown essay). Regardless, I’m happy my college admission quest is now officially over!

Best of luck to everyone!

xxk4ixx, I called at 11:31 and still haven’t gotten a response. Let me know if you get one, though… They said they would call me back.

I called at 11:30. Maybe I should call back haha.

I wonder how many applicants out of the 1950 didn’t apply for aid?

Nevermind. Rejected. Applied for aid. Oh well.

So it seems they are calling back people who got rejected and delaying people who got accepted…

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. No, I didn’t apply for financial aid, and by “spring term” box I mean the tab indicating that you would consider spring acceptance in addition to the fall one (and presumably attend a study abroad program in the UK for the first semester). My theory is that they overadmitted freshman/yield was higher than they expected, so anyone who was willing to come in a bit later got sent down that road to free up housing space. I’m certainly not in a position to complain, though, but I might try contacting the admissions/housing office in the next few days to see whether it would be possible to enter in the fall just because I don’t want to wait even longer to come into the school. I have a separate thread going and I’d love some additional input, but right now I’m deciding between Penn/Columbia and Brown. Also, I called at noon (EST).

@hit

But they called three people that got accepted before (I think it was three or two I forgot)

@Hitsmallkids, I don’t think that’s true! It seems like they’re calling everyone back in about the same amount of time. Both acceptances and rejections have had to wait for the call back. They’re probably just swamped with calls :(

I need a small child to hit and alleviate all this damn stress

so basically those rejected, could you guys also log-in to those websites given in previous posts??..if so, then logging-in is insignificant.

I called at 11:34 this morning and I too still have not heard anything. I have to make a deposit at another school today, I sent in an Earlier Notification Request on May 5th, and they just completely disregarded it. I’m considering calling again to ask for the decision. If I’m accepted, I have a huge decision to make in a matter of 2 hours, and if I’m rejected I have to make sure I get my deposit to my other school before their admissions office closes today. I just don’t know what to do!

Oh and congratulations to all of those accepted so far! :)
