Official Brown 2011 Transfer Thread

Regardless, I think they’ll all be sent out by Friday, which means that some of us could be hearing back on Friday or Saturday!

@nlm - I’m obsessing over it too! I still have two more finals before the week is over. I need to stop this madness and study!

I have a final next Monday and next Wednesday. I also have a paper due next Thursday.
@Wellesley, did you apply to any schools besides Brown?

@nlm - I applied to a lot! My two top choices (won’t say which is first…) are UPenn and Brown. So nervous! How about you?

@Wellesley: I only applied to Brown…super risky, but it’s the only place I want to go. I hope you get into your top choices! You are currently at Wellesley?

By any chance did any of you guys not apply for fin aid?

Brown’s also in my top two choices ^^

I applied for FA, sadly.

How aware is Brown of need? Is it, like, the kind of thing that can push you over if you’re on the edge, or is it a ‘deciding factor’.

no, its a deciding factor… based on what other people have said its a very big deal…

The lady said that they will be mailing them out by the end of the week and to expect them Monday or Tuesday. Also, she said that they will not be posting them online at all.

Admissions officer specifically said in email that all decisions were going to be mailed out of the office on Friday the 13th.

I can’t wait any longer!

How big of a factor do you guys think financial aid will be?

Aw man, I really thought it was gonna be posted in that decision box.

Me too, xxk4ixx, me too. I’m getting anxious. I have to focus on my finals though…

GL on finals

[" + artTitle.replace(“-”,“”) + " - " + “The Brown Daily Herald” + "](http://www.browndailyherald.com/transfer-class-to-rise-by-50-1.2512647)

Not sure if you guys have seen this. Brown wants to increase its revenue. They want more students who are paying full tuition.

Wow. That makes it sound like they’re primarily looking for people who don’t need FA. I wonder how many transfer applicants applied for FA.

I kinda felt like most people do need it… maybe not though :/

What I got from the article is that they’re planning to accept more transfers while keeping their allotted aid the same. So it seems the only thing hurting your chances relative to last year if you’re applying for aid is that there are more transfer applicants.

I have a hunch that they increased the number of transfers because they wanted more revenue, as the article said, which means that it is likely that they accepted based on FA answers.
