I’m so nervous, especially with the standards rising each year and all these comments in this thread aren’t helping. It’s very competative. Good luck everyone, and I am anxiously waiting for December to come >< (chance me maybe?)

@Seniorit15‌ “Selected applicants are notified of the admission decision around December 15th.” Straight from their site.

@nikkizee
Let me know when you hear back! I’m applying business admin too!:D

@lovemeplsCalPoly‌
Do you know if they will email me their decision first, post it on the mycalpoly thing, or do I just have to keep checking my mail?

SLO usually posts their decision on the portal first and then you receive an email. If you are deferred to RD, your portal will change from “Thank you for applying to Cal Poly SLO early decision” to “Thank you for applying to Cal Poly SLO”. My son never received an email about being deferred to RD, only his portal message changed.

@Seniorit15 - Your stats sound very much like my older daughter’s. She just graduated with a degree in business at Cal Poly SLO, and loved her time there. She was involved in intramurals, worked at the rec center, and made many good friends. Best of luck to you!

Thank you!!!

@seniorit15 I definitely will! You have really solid stats so I don’t know why they wouldn’t accept you :slight_smile:

Did your son get in regular decision then? What was his major? Was he out of State or in state?

@will187651 what does it mean if you have a major that the FTF target x 3 is MORE THAN the FTF apps like Landscape architecture so the percentage chance is more than 100%?

Thanks @nikkizee‌!!

@MaddieLG‌ No this doesn’t necessarily mean that you are guaranteed admission. Usually there is around a 33% yield of applicants every year so that’s the number people use to predict the projected acceptance rate. This doesn’t mean the college definitely uses 33 as the projected yield as the actual number of attendants will exceed their projections sometimes. A calculated acceptance that is over 100% doesn’t mean acceptance since someone with very low stats that perhaps just barely meets the minimum could still be rejected from that major. Also remember that these are just projections and targets not absolute.

Realized I made some minor mistakes on my app so I put in a change request form on their website and talked to the admissions office, the deadline for changes is Nov. 15 for ED. Do you think this will hinder my chances??

Post # 76 = “(Sure you have heard CP referred to as the “Harvard of the west”.)”
No, actually. Never, in fact.
CalPoly four year grad rate = 30%
CalPoly is a part of the CSU system and has declared itself “impacted across all majors”.
Also the least diverse of the CSUs…
