**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO 2014-2015 Early Decision**

Actually AP Art History is fulfilling one year of Art requirements according to UCDoorways website. I am ok with her not getting bonus point for the second year of art, since she will have over 14 semesters of science and other point. Just not this one. We are in state as well. Thank you @eyemgh‌

@seal16‌, just to be safe, you may want to verify that with admissions. Cal Poly doesn’t follow the standard CSU guidelines. Theirs are more strict.

I believe, but certainly could be wrong, that Art History is accepted if there is also a practical portion that culminates in a portfolio. The AP Art History curriculum does not include a practical component, just historical perspective. It’s an easy thing to fix since she has a year to spare. I understand though that this very requirement snags quite a few high caliber CSU/UC kids since many of them see these types of courses as fluff. Our son was lucky. One year is required at his HS.

For those Early Decision applicants that were deferred to regular decision, there is still a chance you will get accepted regular decision. Last year, my daughter was deferred and then was accepted regular decision. There is hope!

@FutureMustang101‌ what were your stats?

@Luckymomof3‌ where on the application where you supposed to put bonuses points?

and everyone else, does anyone know what percentage got into engineering? mechanical engineering to be specific? and is there any way to find out why we got deferred?

oops I didn’t realize I posted that three times

Not sure if this is still relevant but D, who just graduated from CP was initially deferred and then accepted to Business during the RD round. At the time based on her stats we’d given it a 50/50 chance.

S in 2013, had MUCH higher stats across the board but did not apply ED. He was eventually rejected for ME during the RD round. Everyone, including several private college counselors, were flabbergasted at the rejection.

It has me wonder whether preference of some type is given to deferred ED applicants during the RD round. It would make sense since CP could pretty much guarantee that the applicant would accept since CP was clearly their first choice. But, this is only speculation on my part.

I got in! Was emailed this afternoon.

@luckymomof3 When you enter your classes on CSU mentor…CP automatically give you bonus points for your ‘bonus’ semesters when they score your application. And if you look at post #71 on this thread, it gives you the projections for enrollment per each college (Liberal Arts, Agriculture, etc) for CP for 2014/15. He gives you a formula to use to figure it out with the attachment.

Chance me for regular decision? I got deferred from ED.
