Pinknpreppy, I bet you’ll probably hear about a scholarship this week.

Congrats to everyone who has gotten $$. I’ve read all the threads, and wonder if anyone entering pre-pharmacy has gotten a tuition scholarship?

I have not heard anything yet. But then again I just submitted my essay this morning.

I got a pharmacy guarantee, but am still waiting on scholarship information.

Steelers, hopefully I’ll hear back soon… I’m guessing it will probably be closer to two weeks from now though. The head of OAFA said beginning of December and they meet every Friday I think (at least from last year’s thread)… but I’ll keep waiting… I have no other choice but to be patient and just hope that I’m not the person who falls through the cracks and receives nothing (even though this is a semi-likely possibility). I’ve started to ask myself whether I would still like to go to Pitt without any money from them in the form of a scholarship (or financial aid for that matter… I’m not sure if my family would qualify for much). I truly loved Pitt when I visited and it is rather affordable compared to other schools on my list. I’m almost sure that no matter what happens scholarship wise, I will attend Pitt. It will be disappointing to not get anything, but Pitt seems very stats-focused. Whether or not I get anything in the next few weeks will depend on how much time they were willing to spend on my file. I loved my essay and I just sent in paper copies of all of my oil paintings from the past year. If they don’t look at these, a borderline scholarship candidate like myself may not have a shot.

I wonder if they’re holding all of the pharmacy people for scholarships until December…

As pharmacy students we are only eligible for two years for undergraduate scholarships. So I guess we are considered a “different” category compared to everyone else.

Is that true? If we get the full tuition… we can only use it for two years? Really? Wow… I never knew that. :(

Yeah 2 years undergrad + 4 years graduate

I was surprised at how few of us there are with conditional acceptances… the packet in the academic portfolio said they only give out 64 of them.

Lol Not everyone uses CC

I am almost positive that pharmacy students can use the scholarship for four years. It’s just the last two that aren’t covered.

I hope so it’s just that on the letter it says the scholarship can be used for undergraduate tuition and Pharmacy majors only spend two years in undergrad.

Yeah that’s true…it doesn’t seem fair though. IF i get a scholarship I’m sure that will be made clear.
