Just kidding…just read the terms that came with the scholarship letter and it says if you finish your undergraduate term in less than 8 terms you forfeit the remaining scholarship.

I think that means that if you graduate early, you don’t get to keep the extra money. But it’s an important issue, and you should call OAFA and ask.

Received $10,000 Merit Scholarship in March…sent in deposit yesterday!!!
Can’t wait for Honors Day Programs.

To answer my own question: it is good for all 4 years. I asked yesterday when I was revisiting pitt. For any conditional acceptance pharmacy majors, the scholarship is good for the 2 prepharm and the first two professional years.

Thanks pinknpreppy216. We’re visiting 3/26-we never saw any of the Phamacy school at out summer visit. My d has narrowed it down to 4 schools, and PITT sounds like the best choice.

Just got my $10,000 OOS scholarship in the mail! I’m really considering uPitt now :)

Did Pitt send out the official financial aid packages yet?

General Comments:

At first they told me to send in mid year grades. This is because I did poorly during junior year ( I got mostly C’s and an F in Physics). I sent in 1st quarter grades and got no response and got a response a few weeks after I sent in my mid year grades! My mid year grades were quite good – all As and two Bs in AP and honors classes. YAY PITT!

I got my financial aid package today in MA, lkf725.

pinknpreppy216-when did you complete fafsa and were you pleased with package based on your calculated efc?

Got Financial Aid package today also. Full Tuition plus Stafford Loan. Very happy. DS looking forward to Honors Day this week.

That’s wonderful! Congrats to your son!

alantill: My mom completed it shortly after it was available online I believe (around January 1st). I didn’t expect to receive any financial aid with my EFC and scholarship award, but I was given a Stafford loan.

For the two responses with stafford loans, were the subsidized or unsubsidized?

I thought EVERYBODY was eligible for a Stafford loan regardless of EFC. Isn’t that actually a Federal loan guarantee program?

Yes I believe that everyone gets the Stafford. Interest rate just depends on if subsidized or non subsidized.

Based on my EFC and the full tuition scholarship mine was unsubsidized.
