My SAT’s werent that great, but my recommendations, essay, and personal qualities balanced that out. Very excited about the acceptance!

Still waiting on Penn State and Villanova but I really love Pitt. I’ve been especially impressed about the fact I already don’t feel like just a number to them. Soon after the acceptance I received my Academic Portfolio and a cordial invitation to the Day for Admitted Students.

I received a 10,000 / yr OOS scholarship… I’m somewhat disappointed. I understand Pitt is very competitive this year… but I really was hoping for a full tuition scholarship. (The letter on the scholarship letter was postmarked February 12, 2010… ) Is there any chance I could appeal or was it because I sent my app in so late?

I received a 10,000 / yr OOS scholarship… I know it’s pretty nice but I’m somewhat disappointed. I understand Pitt is very competitive this year… but I really was hoping for a full tuition scholarship. (The letter on the scholarship letter was postmarked February 12, 2010… ) Is there any chance I could appeal or was it because I sent my app in so late?

Best of luck to everyone else

Equilibrium: I’m pretty sure you got less scholarship money because your app was late. OAFA limits how many full tuition scholarships they give out and it’s a rolling process.

I was going to echo what SCHRIZTO said. S’s college guidance counselor warned the students at his school of delaying apps to Pitt where he said they tend to meet often and early on apps and merit aid.

S. applied on Halloween and was notified of everything by Xmas. He was invited to apply for Chancellor-- but also offered Faison which he may accept after our March 26 visit. He has never visited but is very excited. BTW. We were told that there are only 4 Faisons a year offered. We know a boy there now on a Chancellor. Not sure how many there are of those.

wow i remember posting on the 2013 decisions thread like it was yesterday. come to Pitt!!!

lol it’s the opposite for me. The 2013 thread felt so long ago.

[ b]General Comments: Applied on Nov.29, had to sumbit my mid-year grades, then on President’s day recieved and email from a director telling me that the admissions committee reviewed my application and my Calculus grade would not let me in the School of Engineering. But they asked if I was still interested in Pitt to eamily back saying I was to change to the School of Art & Science (they said if interested I could do the Pre-Engineering Track in A&S then transfer to the school of Engineering later). So, I did and got a decision today and very thankful that they sent that life saving information! Pittsburgh seems like a very cool place to learn, but I don’t know if my family can put in a visit to Pitt anytime soon, so I might have to decide on pics and videos of Pitt. Hopefully I can go north of the mason-dixon line for the first time and meet me some Yankees! ROLF, JK![ /b]
