Official Class of 2014 University of Michigan Decisions Thread

Based on only your GPA and the fact that you’re OOS, your chances seem very slim, sorry :frowning: If you have a hook or you’re a URM, then your chances could go up though.

Sorry, I’m not sure about the SAT question; I sent in my scores back in June lol.

alright thanks.

and…

what do u mean by URM and “hook”?

under-represented minority and michigan does not accept rushed scores. They explicitly state that.

Dammit. I wanna hear back soon :(

transcripts can be uploaded online i did that it hasnt appeared yet tho

^It takes time for them to process it and indicate it as received on WA. Don’t panic. If you’re really concerned call them.

how are transcripts submitted online ilovefhf? via the online embark??

It’s possible to send them via Embark I think, but you don’t have to, and from what I’ve heard, some counselors prefer to mail it. When my counselor did his recommendation through Embark, he didn’t send the transcript; I asked him afterwords to mail it. It’s essential to be in constant communication with your counselor during this time. I suggest you make sure that your counselor sent them ASAP (although I guess it’s too late if she didn’t :()

okay thanks for the reply yosup. so when i submitted my counsellor’s email and went on embark the option to send the HS transcripts was with the recommendation?

hey motion12345

so u-mich won’t count the SAT score that i sent weeks ago because i did it through the rush method?

and…

i checked out the u-mich website and they said that they don’t accept rushed paper score reports. so is that the same thing or does collegboard send our scores to colleges electronically?

thanks!

Let me clarify.

My friend told me that every 2 weeks on Thursday/Friday…U of M releases a batch of decisions.

Sorry. =/, but people last year did get admitted during the last week of October.

Good luck!!

Every two weeks? Ahhh.

Well last year, people didn’t get admitted on the second last week of Oct so if the 2 weeks bit is right, let’s hope for a release in this coming week.

srrinath, good luck for Columbia ED!

Thanks.

And likewise for your Brown!

Thank you!

We’re comrades when it comes to waiting :p

so is there any kind of consensus/knowledge when the next batch of results are gonna come out?
i had everything sent in by 9/24 and 9/25 except my old school transcript (because i transferred) didn’t get there til 10/8
does that mean if my old transcript had gotten there earlier i probably would have heard along with the 10/22 people?

wait…now that i look back there are a lot of ppl who sent/finished their application after me or extremely close to me…could there be something wrong?
like i said, i sent my application in around the 3rd/4th week of september and my transcripts and scores got there the 24th + 25th…and my old school’s transcript about 2 weeks later…but kids who sent in all of their things even after the 8th heard back already?

You’re not guaranteed a response till the 24th of December. There are people who applied on the same date as you and still haven’t gotten a response. I know it’s nerve-racking, but you gotta be patient :(

Yeah trueskills, there are other factors determining when you hear back. If you’re clear cut for UMich, you’ll hear back soon. If you’re more borderline, they’ll take longer to make your decision. There are probably other factors too, such as location, but timing and your stats are the 2 big ones.
