The first pool of applications have been submitted and I’m so nervous for the ED reply!
I hope not doing an interview doesn’t dramatically affect my chances of being accepted! Good luck to everyone applying~

I applied ED and the anxiety is killing me I don’t even know how to feel anymore but good luck to all of you guys! Hopefully we all end up exactly where we’re meant to be(wellesley obv)

Almost done my EE application!! I’ve been interested for a while, and got the chance to visit during the summer and FELL IN LOVE! I had an on-campus interview which I think went really well, and I’m hoping that everything else (test scores, GPA, extracurriculars) is good enough! Good luck to everyone who applied ED (and those who are applying EE/RD). :’)

pin3appl3: Awesome! Good luck to you, too!
I haven’t had my interview yet (since I live a 20-minute drive away and thus can do it any time), but I’m excited for it! My Harvard interview went well, and it showed me how relaxed and gasp fun a college interview can be, so hopefully my Wellesley interview will be just as good or even better :)

Just submitted my app for EE! Excited :)

Just got some things in the mail from Wellesley. Did anyone else get a brocher/pamphlet/poster and a letter for parents? Is it just to remind us to keep W in mind, or does it signify something more? :o

Yeah everyone gets that

How important are the SAT subject tests to the decision process? Are they just as important as the SAT Is? I’m asking because I rushed to take them so I could apply ED but now I’m worried :/

They’re definitely not as important as the SAT, but Wellesley still lists standardized test scores as “very important” on their common data set; basically, Subject Test scores are a large factor but not a make-or-break.

Just wanted to hop in as a rising senior and say best of luck to you guys <3 Wellesley was the best decision I ever made!

Hi everyone! I haven’t seen much activity on this thread recently… How are we all doing?

Discussion starter: where else are people applying?

Hello! Finished with applying to places so other than school/finals not much is going on.

I’m applying to, um, lots of schools. I’ll just list some of them…
I applied to the 8 of the 9 UCs because I’m in-state, but I don’t really want to go to them since they’re so big (700+ intro chem class? Uh, no). UCSD and UCSC are kind of better, since they have residential colleges.

I applied to two other womens’ colleges, Agnes Scott and Smith.

I’ve also applied to medium sized universities, including University of Rochester, Case Western and Rice. Also tech schools, including Georgia Tech and WPI.

But then I’ve also applied to liberal arts colleges such as Carleton and Swarthmore, and also large universities such as USC.

That was a summary of my list. Yup, my list is so messed up. I only want to go like half of the schools I applied to.

Hey! It’s been really a really busy month and I just took the SAT again yesterday (third time’s a charm?)
I’m applying to three other schools, all private women’s liberal arts because I really like the environment. Two are in Massachusetts and the other’s in Pennsylvania. I haven’t submitted them yet because I’m hoping to get that acceptance next Friday I’m also planning on applying to Canadian universities since I live here.

Who else is excited for Friday?
How about you Thebeatlestoday?

quidditchcat: Well hopefully you get into some of the schools you DO like :)

Cantabile: I’m applying SCEA to Harvard, EE to Wellesley, and RD to Tufts, Brown, Amherst, BC, and Northeastern. Harvard and Wellesley are my two top choices, by far. Hopefully I get into one at least!

Thanks, Thebeatlestoday.

I’m applied EE I’ve got to wait until February. Wellesley is one of the schools I really like, although like 95% of the time the girls who apply to Wellesley from my school are wait-listed as well as the fact my grades are kind of all over the place so I’m not realistically expecting much. I really do feel like I need to visit though, I’ve heard mixed things from the people I know who attend women’s colleges. Plus snow. I’ve never been in snow for more than two days on end.

Well, as a New England resident from birth, I can tell you that, to this day, I still get excited when it snows. It’s the following two weeks of brown slush all over the place that suck.

Since I live a short drive from Wellesley, I was fortunate enough to attend Discover Wellesley Weekend this October; I talked to dozens of Wellesley students, and every single one had nothing but glowing reviews of the place. Words I heard a lot used to describe the school and its students were “homey,” “comfortable,” “kind,” “dedicated,” “intellectual,” “loyal,” “fun,” and “incredible,” among others. I would feel so blessed to go to Wellesley.

Quidditchcat- I visited the campus in the fall and it was pretty big-especially considering not a lot of the students there have cars. The whole place felt more like a peaceful park than a college.
Although the snow may take some getting used to, the buildings should have enough heating to keep everyone warm
Are a lot of girls in your school applying to Wellesley? I think I’m the only one that’s even heard of it, my friend hadn’t even heard of it when I told her I was applying.

When I say I’m applying to Wellesley, my girl friends are like “ew, an all-girls school?” But honestly, after spending two days there, you don’t even notice the lack of guys.

It sounds great, and I would love to go if I got accepted.

Not a whole lot of girls are applying, or at least not many that I know of… A Wellesley rep was supposed to show up at my school, but only two other people signed up, so the rep just left her contact info. In previous years, though, there were up to 12 in a single year.

My school’s history textbooks mention Wellesley as Hilary Clinton’s alma mater, so people’ve at least heard of it. It’s kind of funny, though, because people think I want to go to Wellesley to become like her (I tend to be a little shy).

Are you applying ED?
