if tomorrow isnt the day i fear self destruction

@ersnyc nope, only around 15,000.

[46,730 applications: University of Michigan expects roughly 6,000 freshmen to enroll in the fall](46,730 applications: University of Michigan expects roughly 6,000 freshmen to enroll in the fall)

I’m getting so nervous all over again. I’m going to be a wreck tomorrow until I find out.

oh wow @Miw140, sorry. at my tour they said that 18k was the average amount accepted. I do think that if so many people applied EA, they will fill a lot of seats early. applying EA demonstrates interest and helps your chances.

As a OOS prospective student myself from Cape Cod (Massachusetts) i hope everyone gets in! Watching this thread for the past couple weeks has been awesome (and wicked STRESSFUL haha). Good Luck Everyone!

Decisions do NOT come out in any particular order. It’s not by last name, region, or if admitted or deferred or denied. It’s completely random. I know this from an admissions counselor!

@startwithm So if I get admitted tomorrow (unlikely) I can email them right away and ask if I can switch to LSA?

@cutiedida, you definitely don’t have to do that–and honestly I wouldn’t. You can transfer schools even after enrolling, or even after a year of school, so I’d probably let the admissions people relax for a month or year or so before worrying about it.

@startwithm The only reason I ask is that whether I can transfer schools will probably play a factor in whether I choose to enroll at UMich or not…

Guys University of Michigan’s Twitter just retweeted someone getting accept to UMich

@jaysmith721

Hey! Here are some of my stats…
-Weighted G.P.A.: 4.317 (13 Honors classes so far in high school and 6 APs total - 3 junior year and 3 senior year) (Had two B’s 2nd semester Freshman year and a B second semester Junior year)
-ACT: 32 (writing score = 11/12)
-Involved in 5 clubs; part of U-Crew Toledo for two years; peer tutoring for 5 kids from 10th grade onwards; volunteering at library and hospital center (starting in 10th grade - average of around 5 hours/month - volunteered during the summer as well)
-Vice-President of two clubs; have initiated/led many efforts/projects within others
-Part of National Honor Society
-Awards: Lucas County Acad. Achievement in Mathematics (9), National History Day State Finalist (9), GK-12 Poster Gala (Science Fair) - 1st Place (9); Honors History Class Award (9), Honors History Class Award (10), Botany Class Award (10), Erie County Acad. Achievement in Spanish (11), Youth Jefferson Award for Volunteerism (11)

MANY STUDENTS ARE QUALIFIED. But, why would they pick me over someone who has been involved in leadership opportunities throughout high school or has not had any B’s (I had two Freshman year, but they don’t focus as much on freshman year grades–also had one in Stain Glass & Hr Algebra II 2nd semester junior year). They have to be very nit-picky.

However, DO NOT let my opinion/my stats discourage you. IT IS NOT IN MY HANDS! I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST! GOOD LUCK! Let me know how it goes. :)

This is not a drill it is happening

IMRP23, I am pretty confident you’ll be accepted…

The UMICH twitter is retweeting people that got accepted!!!

I saw the tweet too…what

IMRP, if you don’t think you’ll get in, then I am incredibly screwed.

It’s happening now!! What?? I don’t see anything on WA

Is it possible the guy they retweeted is a transfer student?

@ersnyc

They accepted a little bit over 15,000 out of 40000+ applications.
Applied:42544
Accepted: 15551

As a result, there is a high chance for many qualified students to be deferred. At the same time, there will be a lot of denials as well. :(

how is it possible that only one person heard??
