I am a parent and an alumni and just as anxious - just heard that in state kids find out first and because of the common ap glitch they r running behind - everyone will hear by December 24 and decisions might come out on the 17 or 18 but not this Friday looks more like Dec 20

How do you know?

Called admissions. They were very vague, cant confirm/deny truepassions info. All they said was before the 24th and “no date has been chosen yet” and could come tomorrow for all they know

I feel like the same exact thing happened last year, they don’t want to be liable for any applicant who doesn’t get a decision in the given time frame.

I don’t think I can make it another week if they’re not released on Friday…

Everybody has to understand that decisions won’t be coming out till at least December 24th. (not a solid confirmation). This is because there are transfer students and other students from many colleges still finishing up their Fall semester which, all of them should be ending by next week. So, for the people whom have pending grades, those marks won’t be ready and go into U of M until next week. U of M requests many final grades for tons of students before they can make a decision on them. Everyone should just calm down and be patient, admissions is working on tons of applications. I think everyone will be accepted that has what they are looking for at U of M.

They said before December 24th, “December 24th at the latest”

Also, do transfer students have anything to do with the freshman admissions process?

Transfer students are a completely different process. Besides, if they needed grades from this semester or any other info, you’d most likely be deferred so they have the opportunity to request more information. Michigan does not wait until this semester is done to start evaluating ea apps

Hey Guys I was wondering how Michigan will view my ACT scores? I know officially they don’t superscore, but I have read on a couple of reputable websites that they do look at each sub score and take it into account.
In My personal case on the September ACT I got a composite score of 29 (English:31 Math: 28 Reading 32 Science 26). In October I got a composite score of 28 (English:26 Math:27 Reading:28 Science:32). If you are super scoring this comes out to a composite score of 31: (E:31 M:28 R:32 S:32). Essentially will Umich view my score as a 29 or a 31?? Also I have an extreme case of dyslexia, will this be waited? Good luck everyone

I called admissions, and they told me “definitely not this week.” She flat out told me that not all decisions had been made yet.

Seems like things are pointing towards no decisions this week. :(

That really sucks… I do not want to wait another week.

Just as an FYI - when my son applied 3 years ago people heard before their was a decision on his application. I knew this because I kept calling and the admission office told me no decision has been made on his application. He heard 5 days after all of his friends and yes he was accepted.

You will get much better advice from last year’s thread than from all of the speculators here.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1417468-official-class-2017-university-michigan-ea-decisions-thread.html

If you go to about page 15 onward, you will see all of the same questions and many people “told by admissions” that the decisions definitely wouldn’t come out this week (even though they did).

With all the Common App glitches and confusion, it seems highly unlikely that they are done with decisions now. Not only that, last year’s second Friday fell on the 16th, which adds three extra days. I’m thinking the 20th at the earliest (which is my birthday! )

Last year’s second Friday fell on the 14th not the 16th

if it’s going to be a friday i doubt they will wait until friday the 20th. that only gives them 4 days to get them all out.

i really don’t know though. just a thought.

I just spoke to a live help representative on the undergraduate admissions website. I said that there are rumors circulating that admissions decisions could be released as early as this Friday. I was told that those are simply rumors and a specific date for decisions being released cannot be confirmed.

Just spoke to the person via the help chat. I asked if she could confirm or deny the rumors about the 13th. She simply said it was a rumor so there was no clear indication of either way. She just said end of december. I also asked about viewing the decision and she said it will show up under application status, view decision on wolverine access. View decision will only show up once decisions are released. So nervous!!! Go Blue!!
