<p>My friend found out today that he got accepted. His mom is part of admissions, so hopefully he can help a bro out and ask his Mom to dig my profile up tomorrow :)</p>

<p>Wow… I can’t believe that they had over 30,000 EA applicants this year. It’s kind of depressing because I feel like my chances are very slim at this point (they were never great to begin with). Sorry for the pity party sesh, but it’s true.
Plus. You’d think that with so many applicants this year that this thread would be popping right now. I think the switch to the common app is the cause of this. Sure, it’s really convenient, but that’s where the problem lies-it’s convenient. So many people apply just because they can. Sorry, I sound like a jealous brat haha. I feel intimidated by the super-qualified people…
And I’m still waiting up on Friday and constantly checking my email because it still has a chance of coming out then. I really hope I don’t have to wait until Christmas Eve. It would be either the most amazing Christmas present ever, or ruin my Christmas haha.</p>
<p>@Michigangirl22 I know, right? Last year they had over 1000+ posts before decisions were even released. I was checking out Uchicago’s thread, and it’s been a lot more active.</p>

We deserve to be freshmen at UMich next year, I mean look at how much time we’re devoting to this darn thread! Haha if only the admissions team could read this thread and see who their true crazy fans are…</p>
<p>I’m curious about that 30,000 EA apps number; it seems like a monstrous jump. A 36% increase in one year, even after UofM has been on the CA for several years now?</p>
<p>that whole post about talking to the admissions didnt even make sense there’s no way 30k applied bc they only get like 42k a year in total.</p>
<p>@ersnyc While it’s not likely, it is possible. 22k applied EA last year and 46k total.</p>
<p>Someone a couple pages back said they called and the person said they received 30k EA applications this year. I don’t know for sure, but I hope it’s not true 
And you’re right @Miw140, an increase of 8k applicants in one year is a little ridiculous, but there is a very slight possibility that it’s true.</p>

<p>Yes when I called today I asked the admissions officer whether there was a significantly larger number of applicants applying early this year.</p>
