** Official Class of 2018 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

Also, I’m a white male. I am in-state with no alumni connections.

@cabooser Does low match mean I am (dare I say it) a shoe-in?

@michael543212345 Good Luck…Yep, you are a hook!

Once again you are blind…not knowing the difference of an Alumnus!

I will help, there are those who graduate and give little if anything back to the university and then there are those who give willingly, and freely!

I am not talking about a student that has sub-standards. They must still have a 3.8 many AP’s and a 30+Act.

Theres your hook!!!

Based on my stats am i likely to get accepted/deferred/rejected

When do the decisions start getting released?

@Futureproof, yes UM recalculates all GPA’s.

Basically, any type of A (A-, A, A+) is a 4.0, any type of B is a 3.0, any type of C is a 2.0, etc. etc. regardless of class.

Leaning towards accepted because of the 2260 sat, but with a possibility of deferral due to the GPA.

@HarryBoughner My Gpa which is a 96 unweighted normally becomes like a 3.92 unweighted. Thats Crazy.

I hope current students make a new video for admitted students. Like they did for the Class of 2017

Im dying oh my god I need to know like right now if I’m going to get in. Does anyone have any idea when the decisions are going to come out? And can someone please chance me?
SAT-2000
GPA-3.75 UW- 96W
In 2 APs right now and I was in two last year.
I think I had very good essays and I had them read over by alot of people.
I have been part of my dance competition team for 11 years and I have been doing so many other extracurriculars. I also have done a lot of community service
Im from NY.
Please let me know what you think my chances are!

@Collegegal96: high match for LSA, low reach for CoE

Im applying to LSA

@Collegegal96- could you please elaborate on your extracurriculars and community service? How about the AP Scores and any SAT Subjects you may have taken? Also, which school are you applying to?

UMich doesn’t recalculate GPAs anymore. They use what’s on your transcript.

I got 5s on both the APs I took. I also am apart of 4 clubs in school and am the captain of my dance competition team. I had an internship with my Congressman for a year. I also traveled to the inner city of Washington D.C. on a mission to volunteer for a homeless children daycare center and walk the streets and give care to the homeless on the streets. I then lobbied to Congress soon after to go over the things I had learned on my trip. I have not taken any SAT subject tests. I am applying to LSA.

Question: How much importance does course rigor carry? I have a 3.75 GPA (OOS) but a busy schedule as well (6 AP’s this year as well as Spanish 5 and others)

Directly from UMICH site:

A student’s curriculum plays a large role in the application process; we like to see students challenging themselves. We encourage students to take demanding courses (such as AP, IB, honors, advanced or accelerated courses, if offered) in subjects they feel they can excel.

We do not use a weighted GPA scale in our evaluation process. We will convert all students’ GPA to an unweighted scale and review the number of demanding courses seperately.

Can someone chance me?
SAT:2150
SAT SUBJECT: 770 MATH 760 US

Strong increase in GPA

@unsure21: high match/match just because of slightly low GPA

@Collegegal96 high match.
