** Official Class of 2018 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

it’ll be friday idiots
stop thinking anything will change that

I’m fine with Friday…anyone have a weird feeling that it’ll be closer to the 24th though? I could see them releasing decisions on the 23rd and 24th.

Ross MBA sent out decisions today.

ours are coming sometime soon ready or not lol

Just wondering, what is the average SAT, ACT, and GPA for out of state applicants?

@Amraam120 SAT: About 2180. ACT: About 33. GPA: Around 3.9.

I just received an email from U of M…however it wasn’t a decision.

"Hello!

Thank you for your interest in the University of Michigan! We hope you’re as excited about U-M as we are – we’re extremely passionate about the spirit that drives our tradition of excellence:"

Then there was a video that redirected me to their website. I believe the video was titled “Victors Valiant”

“The University of Michigan is a distinctive place - a dynamic, thriving community where learning is celebrated and innovation is encouraged. With nearly 250 degree programs and academic support available at virtually every turn, U-M will help you reach your true potential.”

I dont know what it means…but my wolverine access has not been updated. This could be the NOTICE that the decisions are coming soon, but I live chatted with someone on their website and they said that this was purely promotional and not the actual decision.

I’m from South Eastern Michigan, so idk if its regional or if other people have gotten it too.

@tetrisdeity so… Where did you get the number for OOS averages?

@tetrisdeity those seem a bit high… I thought ACT was arond 29-31 and GPA around 3.7-3.8

[ *] College (LSA, engineering, etc.):LSA

I used some reasoning. SAT range for Mich is 2030-2250. Average is 2140. OOs is more competitive, I would estimate that it is around 2180-2200. Act average for Mich is 31 composite. OOS again is more competitive, so it would center around 32-33. GPA average is 3.85 overall, oos would be around 3.9.

the stats on this thread aren’t all that accurate… everyone who does “chance me” seems way too qualified to be worrying… i’d go with the stats based on your schools naviance… the average gpa of people who get accepted from my school is michigan is only a 4.1ish weighted… and a 2000 SAT. i’m out of state. but people get in with 27 and 28 ACTs too and 1800 and 1900s

Here’s michigan stats.
Most importantly, it’s not all about sat and GPA. If those are good but your essays suck, it wouldn’t bode well for you.

Whoops, idk why that came to be such bad quality.

Did anyone else get that email? I didn’t

I’m from the Metro Detroit area and I didn’t get the email

I assume it’s strictly the promotional nonsense emails that every school sends out to keep their name in people’s minds.

I got the email

I’m from mn

I’m also from the Wayne/Oakland County area and have not received the e-mail.

On a tangential note, it’s amazing how much colleges spend on promotion and advertisement. It honestly makes me believe that colleges – especially flagship state colleges/universities – are becoming more “commercialized” and care more about their endowment and peripheral activities than providing a solid education for students. But that’s just my opinion.

@HarryBoughner
Those number quoted by tetrisdeity is about right. The mid 50 ACT is 29-33 for UMich overall and average admission GPA is 3.85 for 2013. These numbers are on UMich’s admission site.

I just withdrew my Michigan app. Good luck everybody!
