Wow. I finally got a straight up answer from the admissions office. It’s a Christmas miracle… (forgive me if I am posting the link wrong, remove the spaces from the link):

BUT, I wouldn’t write it down in stone just yet. I’m still hoping for a Friday release, but the chances of that occurring have certainly dropped.

i find it hard to believe that their admissions officers would enjoy working on Christmas Eve… I feel like they would want to definitely avoid a release on that date. it would ruin their christmas getting flooded with calls and ruin people’s holiday who get rejected or deferred…

The inability to provide any timeline at this point suggests to me that perhaps they did not have the system, process, and people in place to manage this large of an applicant pool. if so, they will not be able to meet the deadline of the 24th timing at all.

It could be another Obamacare website situation.

I cannot believe this… I am ready to tear my hair out. I’m still hoping for the Friday release, though. BTW, a friend of mine knows a counselor at a private school in Ann Arbor… When he called his contact in admissions, they told him the same Dec. 24 deadline, but he said they seemed quite stressed. It definitely appears that admissions is running behind and scrambling to meet their deadline.

The lady on live chat just now told me on or before 12-24-13. Perhaps they really are behind and just don’t know when they will be ready. It’s kind of scary in a way!

I hope for my own sanity that they are lying and just saying that so people stop being annoying and calling everyday. Either way I think we just need to accept that decisions will come out when they come out. Whether it is in two hours or 7 days when they come out won’t change the decision and trust me michigan is the only place I want to go so I am as nervous as anyone but freaking out now won’t get us anywhere except a world of premature stress that none of us need
