thanks.. i haven registered when i asked that qn.. now we can change anything

When I click "submit" it is being submitted to ALL the schools I am applying to via commonapp.org or if it is only being submitted to one of the schools?

if this makes it easier to understand...
i want to submit two separate essays, 1 for boston college and 1 for harvard. BOTH use the common app. BC's deadline is Nov 1, Harvard's is Jan 1. so i need to submit my BC app very soon, with an essay that is slightly different from my harvard essay. how can i do this?

'All data from your original version of your Common Application will be transferred to your alternate version, with the exception of any documents that you uploaded.' from the common appl

what documents do they mean?

personal statement, additional information.....Does that mean they do not transfer or does that mean they are locked from original submit and can't be changed? I'm hoping it's the latter.....

It means that you will need to upload them again for the new version.

My D. requested the letters of recco. from her teachers at the end of last year (as suggested by the school guidance department). The letters are in the guidance off now. This weekend my D. sat down to complete the common app and found that 2 teacher eval. forms are required. She is hesitant to go back and ask for more from these teachers, esp. since one just retired! Is the evaluation form required? Is it up to each college individually if they require the form? Any advice or suggestions?
Thanks.

What is the PG on the activities page mean? It said something about 13th high school year, but I don't understand it.

If you aren't on your 13th year, then don't worry about it.

If I am in National Service, thus graduated in 2006, would activities in 2007 be listed under PG?

Is there a maximum limit to the personal statement essay on the common app?

Is 1000 words too much?

one you upload, the long essay, yeah. It's double spaced. ^_^ The others, the ones you type in the text box, you don't.

What text box? So essays A, and B are supposed to be double spaced?

tennisjump - technically, there is no maximum limit. You should read all of the other posts on the topic of the essay length to decide what you want to do. This is a very popular topic. 1000 words is on the very high side though.

you better have a VERY good reason for taking 1000 words

How should you send the school your resume? I sent it as part of my common app as an attatchment in the writing samples section (I believe that's the section, could be wrong). Is this correct? Should I send them a paper copy as well?

Woohoo. Blue or black ink for paper applications? :)

no need to send paper copy if you already sent it in the "additional info" section of the common app. Besides, your resume shouldn't be that important.

TheRisenLilith. tomAto or tomoto? same difference. blue or black are both fine

HEY quick question...what size envelope should I have the secondary school report sent in?

Hey all. I'm sure these types of questions have been asked very often. Please bear with me. I had a question where to put a few awards that I don't think belong in the Academic Honors section of the Common App (or maybe they do).

They include

TASP Finalist
Eagle Scout Award and other Boy Scout awards/honors
Awards from sports (team leader award, etc)
Student member of the American Association for Cancer Research

Thanks so much.

ANOTHER QUESTION

i'm having trouble print previewing my app. it always just refreshes the page and gives me "your changes have been saved". how can i print preview my stuff?
