Same question... how long does it take for colleges to send in an acknowledgement or something saying they received your common appl?

anyone??

How long has it been since you sent your application?

Restatement if anyone knows the answer =

I know these questions may have been mentioned before, but for the recap:

Should I still place my name, birthdate, and school at the top of each page of my essay if I'm submitting it online?

Have we all agreed that it should be double-spaced? What about font? Times New Roman?

If I chose a topic of choice, do you recommend that I create my own question and place it at the top of my paper?

Posting this again...

When it asks for how many credits your courses are...how should I write it? My school has a semester schedule. Well, see, English is one credit.

Should I write it as:

AP English Literature AP English Literature 1.0

or

AP English Literature 1.0 AP English Literature 1.0

or

AP English Literature 0.5 AP English Literature 0.5

can someone who knows a lott about the common app and is willing to help please PM me? its chaos finding answers to my questions on these 40+ pages! =/

Nickel,

3 days since app sent in.

It may take a few days for it to be processed.

Oh, ok then. Do you know if they let me know if something is missing now or do they wait until after the Nov. 1st deadline?

You'll be alerted if anything is missing. I'm sure they'll do it before the deadline.

"I am applying for the term beginning______"

When you finally hit the submit button, it asks you a couple of additional questions. It then fills in this field, as well as the field addressing EA or ED at the very top. You will be asked several questions about whether you've printed the app, and that you understand what ED means... All fields are filled after you send. Yes, it's annoying.

Guitars - it will depend on the school.

For MIT, as soon as my son paid the fee and submitted section 1, the site showed what parts of his apps were in house and what was still needed. Pretty nifty!

For Caltech, he got a generic email the next day telling him that a couple of week after the EA deadline, he will recieve mail that will tell him if evrything is in order, and giving him some time to get it together if it is not.

thanks for all the info. I hope they let us know before the Nov 1st date. Do you guys think that I should have my son call the school to see if it was received or does this look like we are hounding them? maybe we should give it a few more days and then ask. What's your opinion?

thanks!!

This has probably been asked before, but when the common ap asks you to self-report SAT and ACT scores, do you need to put all the tests you've taken? Example, I bombed an SAT II but only one school I'm applying to asks for SAT II's. I don't see the need to put them on the application for the other schools even though I know they'll see it on the SAT scoresheet, same with every SAT you've taken (I bombed my first one last fall). Also, I took the ACT but am not using that score so I don't see the need to report it. What do you all think?

You technically don't have to report any scores because the schools you want to see the scores will get them directly from the testing service. If you want to include scores, certainly only include the ones that will help your application.

my question (sry if this has been asked before....)

is it needed to fill out the optional AP scores part? i didnt do so hot on them (no fives, lots of 4s though) but otherwise my stats are alright.

also, is the EC short answer part like a regular college essay or just something like "i do this because....and i like it etc" <- not like THAT...but you know?

Please help with post 652

OMGSH!!! i realized that i did not put the credit worth of my classes when i listed them!!!
is that okay??? or..no?

also....
just being paranoid,
but is it allowed for me to add schools to the my colleges list after i send in my early action one?

First, thanks in advance for any help, though I have a question about the Nov. 1 early decision deadline for Northwestern.
What exactly is due? Obviously the common app, how about the supplemental contract? Does that have to be mailed and into their hands by the 1st? As well as the school forms (well, the teacher recommendation and school report)?
Thanks

The credit worth should be on your secondary school report already.

You can make a new version of your app and send it to other schools, yeah.

thank you! whew

and i meant...
if i cleared all the schools off except for the early action one
sent the common app to the early action one
can i readd the other schools to my list again?
