What's the difference between the "final report" and the "secondary school report"? The forms are exactly the same! Should I completely disregard the final report?

In Nigeria,we take the WAEC examination which is similar to the American GED.In the part of the common app whcih asks "have you received a GED?"should i say yes or no?i initially wanted to say yes and explain in the additional ifo section,is that okay?

The Secondary Report you fill out and send as soon as possible. The Midyear report goes in after semester grades come out. The Final Report you turn in at the end of the year.

Write it as:

Macroeconomics AP 0.5 and Microeconomics AP 0.5.

I assume each semester counts for half a credit and not five credits, right? So then each class would be 1/2 a credit or 0.5 of a credit.

Thanks for your answer Flaming. And I am pretty sure you can just submit the application in sheets if you are doing it by hand, unless it says somewhere that they need the booklet... Although I think that is rather unlikely, especially since Harvard for example sent me a version of the common application that was in sheets.

Really? I got one that was in a booklet.

Well Harvard actually sent me two applications randomly, one to my house and one to my school. The second one, the one to my school, had the booklet AND another copy of the application in sheets.

Oh snap I just remembered an important question! Do we include the hours for EC's that happen the SECOND SEMESTER of our senior year, particularly if these hours are set in stone?

Well, that'd be fine. Just give an estimate of how much time you'd think it'd take. Just make sure you're an official memeber of the club right now. If you change your mind about it or something and it stays on the application, it won't look good.

yeah ur right guys..short answer is 150 words or fewer. and the personal essay is 250 words minimum. i dont personally things its possible to write a "personal essay" in about 250 or 300 words...but what ever the case may be, im pretty sure my finalized copy is a little more than 700. so im going to keep that because i know there are probably people not even on this site who are writing novels

Last year, for the long essay, I think they put a limit of 500 words. But this year there's no limit. I think 700 is fine, though. Just don't go to a 1,000.

Anything over a page is too much. But you can still keep it.

I kept mine, and it was 1 1/3 pages, 800 words flat.

Mine is a few lines short of two pages. I wrote 716 words double spaced.

I know everyone says to double-space the long essay--but if you do, it's definitely going to be 2 pages, even with just over 500 words. Sooo...double or single space vs. 1 page?

I'm anti-doublespace.

With single space, you can have the desired 1 page length. It looks neater and less like a rough draft.

I don't know... I'd say double spaced looks neater. It's how you turn in college papers too, double spaced. That's MLA format righ there. ^_~ Besides, it's easier on the eyes for the admissions people. If they read X number of papers a day, the lines are going to start blurring together after a while. XD

quick question about reporting test scores....

on the common app...should i only list my best scores..or all of them? i mean, the college is going to get all my scores from the college board anyway, but is it necessary to "taint" my application with the bad ones?

i'm asking about sat subject tests. I took 4 and did really well on 3 (800 chem, 750 math2, 750 bio-m) but completely bombed world hist (510)

as far as my understanding goes, if a college only requires say 2 subject tests, then they will only consider my top two scores, and ignore the bad ones...is this correct? and if this is true, then i should only list my best scores right?

List as many as you want. It doesn't matter because when the school gets the report from collegeboard, all your scores will be on the sheet.

Another quick question....
The school forms part....is it necessary? cause i have my teacher recs already in essay format...and where are we supposed to send those school forms anyway? Straight to the university? Because if that's the case then can't we just send the format that was provided by the highschool?

School forms are required. You photocopy them and send them to all the schools you're applying to.
