OFFICIAL Common Application Questions Thread

^^ That's fine, they keep pretty good track of everything so that once everything arrives, it should all be in one place. My school sends out transcripts and recommendations separately too.

How can I delete an alternate version of my common app?

Do you have a second account?

Hey guys,

about how many words can your "Additional info" essay be?

No, I don't have a second account.

Hey,

For the activities section, I went on exchange and right now I have 168 hrs/wk down. Will they think that's stupid? The commonapp won't let me leave the space blank.

I think that doesn't go under activity. Isn't that summer program or something?

it was for an entire year

What do you include in the "Additional Information" section? I have been working since I dropped out of college 3 years ago, should I add elaborate on jobs I have done etc? Also, how long does the personal statement essay have to be?

The long essay has no word limit.

what about the additional info part?

Is it alright to send in teacher evaluations, school forms, etc before the actual application? Like a week or two before. I already submitted my SAT scores, so it's not like they won't have stuff about me on a file somewhere.

Yeah, it's fine, they just throw it in a file until they get your app

edit:
would independent language study w/a professor be considered an ec or should i just leave it in the additional info section (resume)?

Okay, good then. Thank you.

Your application shouldn't have a resume... But was it a summer program or something? I say just put it in the extra info section.

My son is only applying to one common app school that requires SAT IIs, the others only require the ACT. His ACT score is much better than his SAT I score. Does he need to self-report his SAT scores on the common app? I know the one school that requires the SAT IIs will see his SAT I scores, but the schools that don't require the SAT IIs don't need to know what he got. Can we just self report ACT scores and then leave the SAT score section blank?

You can leave it blank since it doesn't matter. They'll see the scores once they get the sheet.

no, it's ongoing since I'm still in high school and all the advanced classes are during the day.
I don't know about the resume, a lot of people seem to be attaching them...and it does provide some important info (I'm putting it in the additional info section). any advice? :/

I tried different formats from MS Word to upload my essay. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

I was able to view my essay on common app by my laptop. For some reason aol wouldn't work but when I used internet explorer it transferred the essay successfully. Thanks anyway.
