***Official Cornell Class of 2019 Waitlist thread

@win2015 I’m sorry I don’t know anything particular about GT. My sense is that they are being vague because they can be creative with the admissions and continually make adjustments for all the various schools and their different semesters (and different types of entry programs). So this could mean nothing is set in stone and anything could open or close up. That’s just what I’m thinking, though I could be wrong.

@Frankens9 You’re probably right, otherwise they would just notify us earlier.

It is true. But at the same time they have to think about the wait list candidates as well. They take their own time. Need to wait and I called admin rep she says that until Jul 1st we have to wait. CAS admin says everything over. Do not know exactly

Called CALS admission office today. I did not talk to a representative but the automated message said they have not decided if they are going to the wait list or not, and they do not rank candidates on the list.
So…no news is good news…???

@3boyz You think they’ll let us know by this week?

@win2015 That’s a good question…I have no idea. I did talk to financial aid folks and everyone seemed very skilled in avoiding detailed answers.

Hoping to get good news by this week . Any idea about CAS

@3boyz I’m sure they are hahah. I talked to a representative a few days ago and she also said that they don’t know if they’re going to the waitlist.

Any news yet?

Hey guys, I may be really late on this, mainly because I am too lazy to look back at all the thread pages, but I got Transfer Option from Cornell. I was on the waitlist. Has anyone else got one of these?

@bantermobile What school?

People who got transfer option- did you have to tell them anything to be considered?

@win2015 ILR. @Kiawah could you be a little more specific ?

Has anyone heard anything???

Hey guys
I got an email saying that the College of Arts and Sciences is unlikely to use their waiting list for fall 2015 admission but they extended my offer and asked if I would be interested in College of Human Ecology. I was so surprised and excited but I am still debating between Wellesley and Cornell. Can someone tell me more about College of Human Ecology please? Thanks a lot!!

My D just graduated from CHE. She was a Human Development major & was accpted into 2 Phd & 1 Masters out of the 7 she applied to. CHE does more research than any of the other Cornell collges. My D was involved in research through their “baby lab”. She also was a TA in the department her senior year. In addition she got in a class taught by psych dept at CAS, that few outside of CAS get into that had a school practicum component. She loved her time there both academically & socially. What specific major are you looking at?

Thanks very much for sharing your D’s experience! I applied as Econ major to CAS. Cornell offered me a place in CHE with a possible major in fiber and apparel design and a focus in policy analysis and management because of my crossover interest in business and fashion. I’m not sure if I really want to do fashion design major though. That’s my biggest concern. Does your D or anyone know about the fashion at Cornell? How hard is it to switch major/school at Cornell? Thanks again!

My D was a PAM minor. Don’t know anything about the fashion design major. If you do well academically I don’t think it is overly fifficult to transfer, but someone who experienced it may be more helpful.

My DS just heard back today by email. There is no spot available for this year in CALS but because they were impressed with his application they gave him the option to transfer in the fall of 2016. Guess this is good news. Must respond by July 1st.

Congrats to you njkidsmom. Is your son going to accept the offer? Where does he plan to complete his freshman year?
