***Official Cornell Class of 2019 Waitlist thread

Thank you. This was so very unexpected I don’t know what he plans to do. He already accepted a place at Rutgers Honors College and is looking forward to attending. Lots to think about now.

Hopefully your son would be able to come to a decision soon and good luck to him wherever he chooses to go.

Any news from COE?

@njkidsmom Accept the offer because it isn’t binding in any way. Then next spring he can decide if he wants to take the guaranteed transfer. Just let him keep his options open.

Just accepted with a transfer option for fall of 2016 for CALS, animal science major. Planning on going to the University of Kentucky and playing it by year honestly, money will be a big factor as well. Still cannot wrap my mind around it to be honest, congrats to all

Yesterday I received the email for a fall GT to AEM at CALS; what a pleasant surprise!

@zjin00 Congrats, that is amazing!! Is the offer for fall 2015 or a guaranteed transfer? Despite what you choose, both schools are amazing choices!

I also got a GT from CALS yesterday, very excited to join as a sophomore

Rejected off the waitlist for SHA. Good luck for everyone else! I’m going to be a Jumbo instead

@ janizary how/when did you find out? I’m also wait listed for sha and I haven’t heard back yet :confused:

@Janizary

Does anyone know when Cornell will inform us of their final decisions? I just want some closure

OMG… i’m just freaking out reading these comments. I literally think Cornell has accidentally deleted me from the waiting list. I haven’t heard anything from CALS… is this a good sign or bad sign?? @win2015 Which major did you apply to? Mine is Plant science

@unpianosurlamer I applied to biological sciences. They do it by major so I’m not sure if you have to worry yet. Regardless, they’ll let you know soon.

@win2015
Congratulations!
Which college or school or going to attend for the freshman year?

@win2015 thanks! Congrats!!

@win2015 congrats! And congratulations to everyone who has gotten an offer. We are still waiting for news… any news at all. Closure would be nice at this point.

Congrats on the GT everyone! Can’t wait for everyone to join the Cornell community. :slight_smile:

Is GT for Fall 2016 considered a good offer ? Any disadvantages (cons) if one chooses to commit to this fall 2016 offer?

Both of my kids know quite a few Fall GT transfers. I think it tends to work out better because you’ll have one week orientation period before the classes start. There tend to be more parties (sponsored by fraternities) in the fall, so it maybe easier to meet people.

GT is not as guaranteed as one may think. There is a minimum GPA and grades you need to maintain. Many committed GT tend to go to their in-state public school to save money and also to meet those minimum requirements.
