Official Cornell ED Class of 2014 DECISIONS Thread

can I see a photo of the screen that says Accepted/Deferred or Rejected??? plz

curiosity

Decision: Deferred ILR

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT: 1510/2280
[] SAT IIs: 730 US History
[] GPA: UW 3.7
[] Rank: NA
[] Other stats: Bunch of internships, Captain of debate team, Model UN secretary, leadership blah blah blah, etc, etc.
10 APs, 2 Dual Enrollments, triple accelerated in math.
No real awards or scholarships or anything like that, though. Ive just got the generic Nat’l Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar, and stuff like that.
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: Common App: English teacher loved it, said it was best she’s read in a while
Supplement: Also well-received by teachers, demonstrated fit and interest well (at least that’s what I thought)
[] Teacher Recs: Didn’t read
[] Counselor Rec: Didn’t read
[/ul]

Can’t say I’m not disappointed. I’m pretty sure it was my GPA that kept me out, I guess its better to get an A in honors than a B+ in an AP.
Congrats to all that were accepted! You have no idea how much I want to be you. To fellow deferrals and rejects, I’m sure we’ll find somewhere where we’ll be just as happy as we’d be at Cornell.

this makes it so much more real. congrats to those accepted, hope i’ll get to join you in the fall!

Decision: Accepted ILR

Stats:

* SAT: 640CR/740M/670W

 • SAT IIs: 740 Math II, 710 chemistry, 730 biology
 • GPA: 92.5
 • No rank
 • Other stats: 5 AP Biology , 4 AP US History, 5 psychology

Subjective:

* Essays: The common app essay was generic and it was not a risky essay. The supplement was alright, talking about the area I work at. From the immigrants I met and being a first generation born citizen, I wanted to help immigrants. I can’t remember the exact way i wrote it.

 • Teacher Recs: It must’ve helped, but i was not an amazing student. One teacher was very nice, but the other thought i was a bit lazy.
 • Counselor Rec: i don’t like her and i don’t talk to her often

Location/Person:

* State or Country: New York

 • School Type: public
 • Ethnicity: Chinese
 • Gender: Male

Side note: I am excited. I was not expecting an acceptance with my mediocre stats. Cornell 2014!
