Does anyone know anything about the hotel school?!?!?!

Why does it say on the transfer Cornell website that decisions will be sent out during December as well? :S

Is there anyone in this thread applying to the hotel school!!! :P

cornell emailed me and asked me to confirm my AP scores too, because I forgot to submit an official copy of my AP scores.

Looking better and better :D

@nahshimshimhaeyo
han guk sah ram yih neh hahaha =) Anyway, its good that they’re interested in your application materials. So Cornell sent you two emails to ask you about your application materials??

i wish they sent me emails too!!! haha =P

Anyone else getting emails from Cornell?

nope =/
looks like judgment day is coming anytime soon this week >_>

@Kevlar: What do you mean? Decisions are out this week?

decisions are supposed to start rolling out nov 1st

do you know that for sure? bc i called CALS and the lady recognized my voice, so I am just going to wait for an answer haha and she told me to call back on the 15th if i did not hear word.

@harvardhop
well looking at last years cornell spring 10 transfer forum, the applicants last year received their decisions generally around the first week of november
so im just making an educated guess here, so im gonna assume that the majority of decisions will be sent out around then
however some of those ppl on the forum also stated that they received theirs much later, so its pretty hard to tell

@boardingkid
yeah i called and asked the lady from CALS, and she said the same thing, that if we dont get anything by november 15, we are to call them

i wish the best of luck to everyone and i pray to god i can get this epidemiology paper done…at least now i kno i dont wanna do public health >_> lol

@kevlar22: Thanks for that info.I guess we can rest assure that decisions will be sent out starting Nov 1.

@harvardhop no problem
i just want to kno asap too…which states are you guys from?
im from NYC!

guys…what do you think my chances are at this rate…?
i didnt take bio 2 even tho im applying as a biology major, however i have all the other pre-requisites and thats the only one i dont have

i took bio 1 and orgo 1 and am taking orgo 2 rite now (cuz im a chem major)
i have 2 strong recommendations from professors whom i took courses with,
a 3.8 GPA (4.0 for science and 3.5 midterm report even though quite frankly i dont think midterm report matters all too much),
part of the macaulay honors college at CCNY,
98 average in HS,
2100 SAT,
and an internship in a 3-summer medical school prep program at columbia university hospital and mt. sinai that gives you clinical and research experience (from what i heard from the coordinators about 2000 kids applied for our 30 spots…)
coordinator of a volunteer program in New York Chinese School

do you guys think that not having bio 2 will hurt me?

@kevlar

i would say you would have had a 70-80% chance of acceptance if you had bio 2. (high gpa, 4.0 science gpa, strong relevant e.c.s).
without bio 2, a 50-60% chance. if you are rejected, it will probabaly be b/c of the missing pre-req. the good news is that i believe you are a sophomore transfer, and if you apply next semester you will most probably be accepted.

not having 1 year of bio hurts all majors, because it is a required course, but since you are a bio major it will hurt you a lot more because you are competing with people who probably all have bio 2 finished.

like i said before, i would contact them and let them know that you weren’t able to take bio 2 (opposed to just not taking it) and state that you are willing it to take it in the winter before you transfer if they require it.

kevlar22,

For sophomores the completion of pre-reqs is not as critical as for junior applicants(I called cals about this issue a month ago).

@tallfrodo and yeastDNA
thank you for letting my mind rest easy

that’s true if you are missing like one to two courses the most. i applied for fall transfer and didn’t get in bc i had like 3 courses missing (BIO I and II; Stats)

decisions (start) tomorrowwwwww. so exciting/nerve-racking/dreadful

i feel ya =/
i wonder whos gonna get their decisions first >_<
