GTs
Vonegutted

i got it via email

Wow…so most cals applicants got accepted on this forum lol i guess if we dont get anything by tomorrow the rest of the decisions will be rejections…

@tallFrodo- Let’s think positive… I wish you the best =)

wow, not many GTs in this thread. Is it unusual to get a GT when applying as a transfer?

@Vonegutted

Nice name. No, that’s what happened to me. I applied for Fall 2010 admission to ILR and was GT’d for the coming semester.

@weezyf

Phwew, thanks. I’m now just concerned with how guaranteed this actually is. I got deferred and then rejected from CAS in high school and I still love Cornell, so I’m scared of getting my hopes up for nothing a second time.

It’s more common for a 2nd year student to get a GT, I’ve never heared about a 3rd year student get one? Have any of you?

I’m a first semester sophomore if that was in reference to my position. I don’t think it would be possible to transfer in later than first semester junior year for nearly any college.

@harvard
Are you saying that current 1st semester sophomores probably wouldn’t get a GT?

I wish there were more ILR students so that I could whine with them on not getting decisions until Dec. : (

@Vonegutted

You’ll have to refer to the text of your decision letter and be in touch with CALS, but, at least for mine, I just needed to meet a GPA check. I suspect your agreement will be something similar but also including some courses you must take.

@Ithacakid91

There’s no reason you couldn’t; if they like you but know they won’t be able to house you for the Spring they may GT you to keep you in the pool/interested. As for commiserating, I assure you it’s annoying that even though I’m a GT I don’t find out for awhile. I just wish they used emails to notify…

Hey guys I was thinking, someone should make a facebook group for all the spring transfers! Got the idea from the fall 2010 transfers and it seems like people were really interactive and whatnot. I would make it myself but I already tried and failed lol

facebook group?

congrats to those accepted! im guessing everyone’s able to log into the newstudents.cornell.edu?

Boardingkid> Are you able to log in? I just logged in myself.

yes, but i think anyone who has applied are able to do so.

Aww =(.
Not fun.

Sorry for the millions of paranoia-driven questions, but have GTs been rescinded before?! Also–congrats to all of the acceptees!

@Von: Don’t say sorry! Ask away, this is what this thread is for, right?
I think that GTs have to maintain a 3.3 GPA or…PIIII (HighPitch) they’re denied admissions. So, If you meet that requirement, then rest assure you’re in.

No mail today =(, or E-mail. Maybe monday. Ugghh… tick…tock…tick…tock…

This thread is slow today. Any new decisions?
