@tallFrodo, I will let you know – what did you apply for at CALS?

Primary major aem alternative major comm. Bout u?

Do you have to apply a GT or it is decided by Cornell?

I applied for Information Science – I haven’t called yet, but plan on it soon.

I called CALS and they informed me that they were not releasing decisions over the phone. The woman I spoke with said that they just started mailing out decisions yesterday, and it will continue on a rolling basis.

Intereting…they pukled up my file and checked

what kind of rooms are you guys planning to get?
iono if i should get a single or double…

Treeee: I’m sure the person you talked to was misinformed. I know for a fact that they HAVE released decisions on the phone in the past.

tallFrodo: What do you mean by this:“Intereting…they pukled up my file and checked.”

Edithzzle: You can’t apply for a GT. It would be nice if you could, but then, what would be the point of applying for regular ad?

I am just so confused by these admin officers’ response. Some said all letters would be released on Monday, some said to make call later, some said decisions had not been made? Whom to believe?

I want a single no matter what.

It seems to me no matter who calls they tell whoever something different. I don’t know whats going on. It would be nice to get a decision.

oh man. This wait is taking forever. Why don’t they just release rejections so that rejected people will at least be able to execute plan B… :(

Sorry for the major typos lol

Ok heres what happened when i called. I asked if a decision was made. She asked for my name, pulled up my file…bt didnt tell me my decision. wth right?

I pulled an all nighter and called at 5 am so i dont remember exactly what she said…i think she said she didnt know or shes not able to say. I basically interpreted it as a rejection so i stopped listening lol.

I called a few times before and she always said decisions over the phone will be released starting nov 15th. yesterday was the first time she asked for my name. Dunno why she didnt pull up other ppls file… maybe she recognized my voice?

@edith

i called cals. Harvard called cas. Weezy called ilr so that prolly explains some of the differences.
My info applies only to cals applicants. Bt i have no idea why when tree called the lady said smthg different.

@tree
Did u call cals or the general undergrad admissions office?

tallFrodo: Think positive. You deserve it as much as anyone else on here =).

I feel like calling A&S and CALS to say LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE =P.

@harvard

Haha thanks im kinda over cornell even tho its my first choice… hope i at least get into nyu! Im just ****ed i had to take 2 bios physics speech an extra english calc and stats b/c of cornell…
Bt seriously wats with the ‘call on nov 15th’ and then ‘no decisions will be made over the phone’ lol
so frickin annoying. they should inform rejections first…not fair for rejectees to wait longer! argh :(

I agree with Frodo. I already registered for new courses for the next spring at my current school and have to proceed with paying the bills very shortly. Man, this wait is killing me for real. :((

hhaha I guess Mixter and I are in the same boat!

taFrodo: It sucks that you had to take sooo many classes. I would be mad If I were in your shoes…ha…I am mad already for you lol

Yea the prereqs were pretty ridiculous lol they were all ok bt physics and calc was a ton of work

I called CALS @ (607) 255 - 2036.

This may ease some, but I know a couple people at Cornell, and I asked them my likeliness of acceptance and this is what I got:

“the decisions go through the colleges. If you have all your info together and all your transcripts, letters etc and meets the dead line, you have a good chance of being accepted being a transfer student and having 2 years or more with another college and two associates degrees.”

No need to be negative here – as far as what CALS told me, they started mailing out decisions this week. The other folks who were accepted may possibly be early decisions or GT. Everything is mailed out on a rolling basis.
