Official Cornell Transfer 2011

Hi everybody. Im a highschool senior and I recieved a letter from ilr offering a Transfer Offer (TO) for fall 2012. I’ve seen around that theres something called gauranteed transfer. My letter made it sound like i was gauranteed acceptance if i met the requirements(3.3 GPA while studdying full time at accredited 2- or 4-year college, and taking certain courses). Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks.

^Yes that’s exactly what that means. Don’t screw up and you are guaranteed a spot for Fall 2012.

I sent two rec letters, it said two!

…omg it said one for heavens sake.

^^ U mad bro?

And the letters of rec follow the same rule as essays: If you have a 5 page essay due, write about a quarter of a page more if you’re worried you didn’t get your point across after the initial 5 pages. Either that or you write a quarter of a page less if you want to focus on quality. Ivy league kids shoot for the gold and want to do anything to secure their spot. Why not put some icing on that cake?

Lol criticize me as much as you want. I submitted 2 recs as well. But it is a fact that only one rec is required, and a false info can unnecessarily confuse other transfer applicants. Actually, there already had been a discussion about the number of recs required. Why bring it up again when we all know that it is not true? I’m not judging those who submit additional stuffs. But I would like to stop things that could turn this page a chaotic mess.

Approximately three to four weeks until I hear back from ILR. Exciting times.

Anyone else here?

We are getting the results through only mail, and not e-mail or from the homepage?

^I have no idea.

@yumeno2010 nbd, page turned.

@peter5704 on the application status page (before March 31), it stated that transfers would get their decisions in the mail…mid-April to June.

Mad anxiety.

Hey guys… I have some questions. My first semester was not great. I got a C in C++ programming. … well it was my first time and it was hard for me to understand the language. However, I did physics research on particle physics about protons, neutrons, and etc. I wrote it in my essay. I have three teacher recommendation letter; math, physics and my physics professor that I perform research with. I am applying for mechanical engineering.

Just a quick question… who review the application… is it engineering college or the department .

I’m losing my mind over here. I thought my NYU transfer essay was great before I submitted it. Now that I have submitted it, I’m doubting myself. I’m not sure whether I went on a bashing rant of my previous college or not. I pretty much stated that I felt my major was greatly underrepresented at my previous college and lacked a number of resources. Does that sound like I’m bashing my previous college?

^Wrong thread? :-)

From what you posted, it sounds innocuous enough.

WOW. I just realized my mistake. lol.

Did anyone get a wierd email from collegeboard about someone trying to get info from collegeboard? This is wierd as why now? I was two years removed from high school, why would someone want to get info now?

I think colleges do look at your collegeboard sometimes to get info, maybe cornell looked at my data?

omg! I overlooked the similar e-mail this morning… but i think it simply means that someone tried to get into the system …i doubt it’s Cornell looking at our info…

We are all anxious, but let’s not over analyze things because of it :)

@batman If you read that email carefully, it was about a small security breach in Collegeboard’s mail server. I highly doubt Cornell illegally hacks databases to get better perspectives on applicants. Wouldn’t you agree?

I got the similar email, but it should not be Cornell.

I got the same email too , after which I started to get massive amount of spam. Lol

CAS finally forwarded for review, hope it’s not too late :)
