@Nah: IDk, good question = )

@harvardhop: thx for the advice! actually mine showed the application payment was not received (it was there since I got my login info). then i called today and they said they would process it today(yesterday) so i should be able to see something soon.
so on your application status, you can see what forms cornell got, right?
and also for financial aid, they ask me to send the verification form. I uploaded online already, do i need to call in the office to rush them? lol
thanks~

and also did you send a transcript to the financial aid office? (on my to-do list, it showed “transcript”) one office person told me not necessary and one told me i need to.

Okay folks, I have some exciting news for CAS applicants. I called the admission office today and spoke with a transfer coordinator on a separate issue. Afterward, I inquire about decision release date. She says “we are hoping to get decisions out by the end of THIS MONTH” That is their goal…

@Bullmarket: thanks for sharing this with us. I’m getting excited already!!

@Lala: I dind’t send a transcript to the financial aid office. I’m guessing if they need it they could just get it from admissions…

Just sent my mid-term report today… Hope it’s not too late!!

@siyu: I think it is =(…Forms had to be post-marked by Oct. 1. You should call and ask.

She says “we are hoping to get decisions out by the end of THIS MONTH” That is their goal…

That is exciting!

That’s not true for mid term reports. They’re supposed to be sent after students have completed and received grades for their first round of exams.

Oh, Interesting.
Ignore my comment…

keeppostgoing

Hi guys! I’m an ILR GT for Spring '11 so I’m not exactly in the same boat as you all, but I’ve been there. Don’t stress about the forms too much, mine didn’t update until well after my application went under consideration (at least according to the fine folks at ILR admissions…)

Don’t hesitate to call the admissions office of your college if you’re worried about forms-- they actually aren’t terribly busy because ED apps haven’t all been submitted. Best of luck to all of you and I hope to see some of you in January!

@Weezy: WHat do you mean “mine didn’t update until well after my application went under consideration”? I received an email today that I am missing a form, they told me, in order for them to review my app they need all the forms in.

BTW, Did anyone else get this email:

Dear XXXXX,

Admission selection committees are currently reviewing completed transfer applications for admission to Cornell for the spring of 2011. We would like to send your application to committee for review, but we are missing important application materials.

@HHop:

I received the same email last semester and found out that it had been sent in error. My SelfService didn’t reflect that the form in question had been submitted (I actually got two emails warning me that my application woud get withdrawn), but I called the ad office and they informed me that SelfService isn’t perfect. If you’ve talked with an actual person at admissions, then, yes, worry away. Otherwise, just call the relevant admissions office tomorrow and that should clear things up.

@Weezyf:

Thanks for your advice. I’m going to call tomorrow, because it says I am missing my school official report, but I am sure it was sent. Weird, huh? How is financial aid for you at Cornell?

Thankfully, I didn’t have to apply for aid 'cause I established NYS residency last year. The transfers I’ve talked to said their aid was pretty generous, but not mind-blowing. I’m not the best person to ask for specifics, but I bet one of the other Cornell transfers who lurks the forums might have more information. I defer to any of them.

Hi weezyf,

Do you mind posting stats? I’m afraid I might be at a huge disadvantage due to my high school grades…I hope the committee will look beyond it.

I meant to apply for the spring but I lost track of the deadline and time management’s never been my forte, so fall '11 application it is. I’ll be watching this thread though. Best of luck all.

@Bullmarket:
You’ll find my stats below. If you’re applying for second-semester sophomore standing I wouldn’t worry too much about your high school grades if you wrote great essays. That said, admissions is still a bit of a crapshoot for the 4.0-getting, extracurricular-participating supermen and women among us. Which college did you apply to?

Current School: Tufts University (Economics/French Major)
Entering as: Sophomore
High School GPA: 3.73 (Private Boarding School, Top 5)
College GPA: 3.33 (in all advanced courses). Midterm report: 3.8
SAT/ACT Scores: 800CR, 770W, 700M
SAT II Scores: 800 French Reading, 760 Bio-M, 740 US History
Significant ECs: Three-time letterman in high school, 2 football 1 wrestling; editor of school newspaper; Prefect; Cum Laude Society; National Merit Scholar; AP Scholar With Distinction; analyst for student-run hedge fund (college); and writer for one national sports blog and one on-campus music blog.
Hooks: Very favorable recommendation from an alumnus of the school to which I applied at Cornell (ILR).
US/Intl: US (New York)

Wow weezyf,

Those stats are impressive! I am applying to CAS. I am applying as a Jr. I have already received my AS. I hope this weight more than my dismal HS record.
