haha, I remember going through this last year. You need to seriously drop this out of your mind. The more you get anxious, then the more this will hurt if you don't get what you hoped for. Just concentrate on doing well now.

yea but it's in two weeks....bites nails

I can't even begin to describe the feelings I have.

i am very calm and complacent right now, but i know that as soon as the mail arrives/decision letters are available online i will start to freak out, the way i am never nervous waiting 4 my report card but i freak out when i actually start to open it.

when i get the letter, whether online or by paper, i will cover the entire page, then slowly, bit by bit, reveal the words, one by one.

if i get a huge package in the mail, i will shriek with happiness, because if they send u a huge package along with ur decision letter, that means u got in. of course, if u dont get one, it doesnt NECESSARILY mean that u got rejected, but a package means 4 sure.

but 4 now, i am not freaking out, i am just thinking about my friend's bat mitzvah and how i cant go :(

Im pretty nervous x100005869. Two weeks! Ahhhhh....

You foos. This is HIGH SCHOOL LIFE...not MIDDLE SCHOOL LIFE.

Lmfao is grade 10 middle school? Didn't think so.

well i want a...is

i don't know, we 8th graders r here bcuz we r trying to get in to 'high schools'....i dont see whats so ilogical about that...

exactly! it still has a whole lot to do with high school.

stupid question. but what is prep school?

Amidst the intolerance, I think it's okay for middle schoolers to post in here, especially since there isn't a forum dedicated to these people. I mean, it's the High School Life forum, but you're applying to high schools, so I guess that's fine.

Anyway, I only came here to wish you guys the best of luck. I never got to apply for a prep school (I only applied for a local private school), but I hope things will turn out right for all of you.

Yeah but seriously....sophomore year at the earliest. 720 posts and your only in 8th grade...enjoy 8th-10th grades. come corrupt yourself as a junior

prep school is short for college-prepatory school. its a private school where u have to apply to get in. the best applicants, usually the best students, get in. its usually from ninth grade to twelfth grade, but there are some with lower grades.

oh right, and though not all prep schools are boarding schools, some are. in this case, most of us are applying to boarding schools.

My sister was just accepted to a couple local prep schools, including her first choice. Good luck to you all!

Here is a quick adage:

He who applies to prep school is stuck up.
NOW
True or false?

TRUE times one hundred!!

logisticswizard, what do you have against prep schools? just curious.

logistics wizard, have u ever met a prep kid?

stuck-up prep kids are just a steryotype. prep school is no longer 4 the rich. more than a third are on financial aid. no, prep school kids are smart, actually. dont make judgements on people you never met. and if you did meet a prep school kid that was stuck up, that doesnt mean all of them are. i have met prep school kids, and they were intelligent, polite, normal kids.
