How has everyone’s Februarys been? The year is going so fast it’s crazy.

wait so are decisions released after 5 pm march 31st for dartmouth too? because some people have been mentioning april, but its actually that night, right?

Does anyone know if the decision will only be posted online? If you get in, will they mail a letter to your house and post it online?? meow

^ Honestly, I have no idea of the answers to either of the two questions above me ^

hey everyone I’m new to this thread but I’m an RDer was well. I just visited the Dartmouth campus this week and I fell in love with it! Have any other RDers here visited the campus recently? What did you think?

I want a likely :(

yess i got a likely letter, but still waiting for brown and penn…

Wahhh I want my likely too!

Hi all. Would you be so kind as to tell me what a “likely letter” is exactly? When in the process did you receive it? Are you RD? What did it say, etc. Much appreciated :)

Ithink a likely letter is some kind of letter that some Ivies send to their favorite applicants to tell them earlier that they are getting in.

I didn’t get a likely, but you probably would have gotten one already since I believe they were released already.

Thanks, team.

Based on past experience, the Dartmouth likely letters were sent in waves, almost one batch every week until the the middle of March though most admitted students won’t receive a likely.

Professor, it’s nice to know there’s still some hope! :)

Thanks Professor101. Glad to know there is hope

Hey, can you guys (and girls) check to see whether you can access the “Class of 2014” page on Darmouth’s banner system? On the Main menu, when I click on “Undergraduate Applicant Menu,” a page comes up with “Application Status,” “Email Address Verification,” and “Class of 2014 Website.”

Another poster and I both realized that we can get into that website and access the Class of 2014 directory and everything, but we don’t know whether this has any meaning whatsoever? It probably means nothing, but it wouldn’t hurt to check.

Hey guys! Sorry if it looks like I’ve abandoned this thread… I totally haven’t, it’s just been (like TF said) a very fast and busy February! Woo!

First of all, welcome all new RD’ers! Join the family. :)

Like others have mentioned, likelies are just a way of expressing how much a college wants you; it’s basically a form of early acceptance that colleges use to entice very attractive applicants, barring any significant academic decline. In most cases, however, likelies are only offered to either recruited athletes or superb (and I mean USAMO, intel, siemens, what have you winners) academic candidates (although I’m told there are exceptions to the rule.) Either way, likelies are a wonderful thing to get, but most students who are accepted do not receive them, so do not be concerned if you do not get one. Like Professor mentioned, Dartmouth sends them in waves, I believe, so it’s even possible that one may get a likely letter after others have been released.

In terms of the normal decision date, I couldn’t find anything online. Anyone else have information on this?

Also, how has everyone’s February been?

I think its April 1st

Thickfreakness- I think it does mean something. I got a likely for track back in January and I can log in, but a lot of people can’t. I also recognize a lot of my friends who got in ED on the directory, which I can make a profile on too… Soooo ya

Is anyone going to Dimensions?

if you do get likelies, do they come in the mail?
